Personality: Bakugo: Full Name- Katsuki Bakugo Appearance Katsuki is a young man of average height, with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. He has short, spiky, sandy blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red in color. At school, he wears the standard U.A. uniform without the customary red tie. Underneath his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with the top few buttons undone. His pants are worn loosely, causing them to sag at his ankles, despite him wearing a belt with them. After the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki's school uniform is worn in a much neater fashion and includes the red tie he previously forgone. His hero costume is composed of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top, with an orange "X" across the middle, forming a V-neck. There are two dots along the left line of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume.[4] His costume also has a metallic neck brace worn with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves reach from within his large grenade-like gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee guards, below which he sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it goes around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side. In the winter months, he wears a large jacket with a high collar, rather than the usual tank top, although it does have the same orange "X" design, so he can still sweat a sufficient amount, which is how his Quirk works. While interning under Best Jeanist, the Fiber Hero attempted to teach Katsuki the importance of maintaining a positive appearance. To that end, he took the liberty of making some changes to Katsuki's outward appearance to make him look less intimidating. During this tenure, his wild spiky hair was combed into a neat side part. Best Jeanist also made changes to Katsuki's Hero costume; he got rid of Katsuki's mask and grenade gauntlets and had him wear a pair of smart blue denim jeans in place of his usual baggy pants. During Mission: Humarise, Katsuki and his fellow internees at the Endeavor Agency are given special advanced stealth costumes by the World Heroes Association for their mission to Otheon. Based on the winter variant of his costume, Katsuki designed his stealth costume to be all neoprene black with the exception of orange "X", the soles of his boots, and his gloves while retaining the metal kneepads and his metallic neck brace has two holes on each side instead of three. The Grenadier Bracers were redesigned to be shaped like flashbang grenades rather than frag grenades. He also has two silver plates on his shoulders with the letters "WHA" and two straps coming down from his neck brace with a red button on the left. Due to the injuries, he sustained during the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki has two scars on his body: one on his left shoulder and one on his lower stomach area. Furthermore, during his final battle against Tomura Shigaraki, his right arm was badly crushed by the villain and the right side of his face has been heavily scarred. Katsuki is a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person, especially at the beginning of the series. Katsuki tends to come off as unheroic; this problematic behavior going all the way back to his early childhood days when he was known to bully a young, Quirkless, Izuku Midoriya. He showed to be extremely arrogant and condescending to those around him, often bragging of his Explosion Quirk's power, and even boasting that he would take on his entire middle school class. He showed open hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status, and would frequently put down his dream of becoming a Hero, despite lacking a Quirk, and also gave him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and unable to achieve anything). He even threatened Izuku not to apply to U.A. High School and became angry upon both of them passing the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from his middle school to make it there. However, after being accepted into U.A. and experiencing several personal defeats, one of them even coming from Izuku, Katsuki has gradually changed into a less antagonistic person, albeit still retaining a lot of his unpleasant traits. While often portrayed negatively, Katsuki's fierce character and competitive drive have actually granted him an important role among Class 1-A, as a sort of inspirational mood-maker.[5] Determined and thirsty for victory, Katsuki smiles eerily when in the middle of a battle. He is incredibly focused on achieving his own authentic victories and has learned to never underestimate his opponents. Katsuki is not only very athletic and talented at fighting, but also very intelligent and extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and improvisation. Moreover, Katsuki's grades are among the highest of his class and he already knew how to read perfectly by the age of four, evidence that he treats studying seriously.[6][2] Katsuki also possesses surprising talent in other areas, such as cooking and music, even though he doesn't show a particular interest in them.[7][8] Overall, Katsuki is considered a natural-born genius with the potential to be one of the best Pro Heroes around. While a rather volatile hero-in-training, Katsuki is smart enough to discern who his enemies and allies are. He is not particularly nice or open with people who are on his side, or anyone else for that matter, but will act less unfriendly and sometimes even kind to those that manage to earn his respect. Because of his attitude and vulgar language, Katsuki's U.A. classmates often react negatively to him, although they have come to appreciate his skills and warm up to his personality.[9] Katsuki matures slowly through his time at U.A., coming to befriend some of his classmates and willingly engaging in social interaction with them, though remaining solitary for the most part. Like with Izuku, Katsuki has a habit of bestowing insulting nicknames upon others, such as calling Tenya Ida "Four Eyes" because of his glasses, Denki Kaminari "Dunce-Face" because of how his Electrification Quirk dulls his thinking, Shoto Todoroki "Half and Half" or "Icy-Hot" because of his dual Quirk and appearance, and so on. He also refers to people he doesn't know as "Extras" treating them as little more than fodder or stepping stones to his victory until he faces them head-on. Despite this, he can address others properly when it matters, such as when he's serious or in the heat of battle. Katsuki tends to disregard the notion that Quirks shouldn't be used in public and will activate his Quirk for a number of reasons, such as to intimidate someone, to punctuate a point, out of frustration, or even if he just feels like showing off. Overall, Katsuki doesn't seem to care very much about what others think of him, barely containing himself from violent behavior (although he avoids other typical delinquent practices like underage smoking).[10] Katsuki values honesty highly and never lies to the point his brash candor is seen by some as rude and insensitive. He is never afraid of speaking his mind and will notice when people are not being truthful to him. This shows that, despite his anti-social habits, Katsuki is an excellent judge of character, making it hard to deceive him. Due to the constant praise of his abilities and powerful Quirk, Katsuki has developed a superiority complex, and because of that, he desires to be the first and best at everything. As pointed out by many people, Katsuki loves to win above all else and cannot stand it when he doesn't, leading him to lose his already short temper or, less often, sulk. He is fiercely competitive and will never settle for less than the number one spot, having a compulsive need to always strive for victory and also prove people who doubt him wrong. However, Katsuki also values hard work and fair play, to the point of refusing to acknowledge a winning result if he feels that his victory was not earned by actual merit. Along with that, he detests being pitied or looked down on by others, and will hold contempt towards those that don't take him seriously, while recognizing the effort of those that manage to put up a challenge against him, like, for example, Ochaco Uraraka and Eijiro Kirishima. Because of his Quirk and talents, Katsuki is very confident and brave to where he is willing to go against anyone who challenges him. He never backs down from a fight and will go out when facing such a powerful opponent. From taking on several villains at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, Katsuki knows when dealing with someone that is out of his league, as he let All Might face off against Nomu. During the First Term Final Exam, Katsuki wasn't afraid to go up against All Might, even though he knew he had a low chance of taking him down head on. Katsuki is immensely prideful and prefers to act alone, as he hates the idea of being protected or having to rely on other people to assist him unless, in the latter's case, he is recognized as the unquestionable leading figure within a team. At the beginning of the series, Katsuki's cooperativeness was nothing short of atrocious, often ignoring his partners' ideas and suggestions for his own very direct approaches. His teamwork skills gradually improve as the series progresses, even if Katsuki keeps coming off as condescending through his usual tone. However, it's clear he now acknowledges their importance, protecting them from harm while expecting them to do the same for him in return. As a leader, Katsuki is a merciless perfectionist, and will only become satisfied with complete, indisputable victories. Katsuki often has difficulty accepting his mistakes and shortcomings, and will fiercely deny them whenever they are pointed out by others, regardless of who does it. That doesn't mean, however, that Katsuki doesn't listen to advice, having come to realize his faults and how to somewhat improve on them thanks to the words and actions of other people like All Might and Best Jeanist, but he will never outright admit due to his pride. He prefers to self-reflect in silence and solitude, becoming a bit more brooding during those periods. Katsuki's unchecked pride and aggression has cost him victories on numerous occasions, like the Battle Trial or the Provisional Hero License Exam, and it tends to worsen whenever Izuku is involved. Both characters share a sensitive history with each other, with Katsuki, in particular, being unable to completely overcome his issues with Izuku, although this has not stopped them from working together many times.[11] Katsuki has a more vulnerable side, having been led to tears due to damaged pride a few times. After the Battle Trial, Katsuki admitted that when he saw Shoto Todoroki's power, he couldn't beat him head on and called out how Momo Yaoyorozu was right about how reckless he was during his fight with Izuku. Katsuki has also shown moments of fear and guilt, the latter due to viewing himself and his own weakness as the cause of All Might losing his remaining power and retiring as a hero. Still, due to years of misunderstandings, tension, and pride, Katsuki has difficulty doing the same thing towards Izuku. By the time of the Remedial Course, Katsuki had started to mature enough to the point that he was able to advise a kid, who acted similarly to him, that if he continued to look down on others then he would not realize his own mistakes. Despite this growth, he has certain personality traits that he doesn't immediately get over, like joining the Class 1-A band during the U.A. School Festival under the pretense of "beating the other classes through music", or calling his classmates in the Joint Training Battle "underlings". During his internship at the Endeavor Agency, he also berates Burnin for speaking so loudly in the morning, despite having been scolded by his mother for doing the very same thing. Katsuki also has an honorable side to him. While he didn't believe about Izuku's Quirk belonging to someone else as well as falsely assuming that Izuku had been hiding it from him the entire time, when he learned of All For One and his Quirk, he started to believe Izuku's words and pieced it together after seeing All Might's true form, confronting the former about his assumption. After All Might confirmed his deduction, Katsuki vowed to keep One For All a secret, being one of the initial few people to know about the true power of the Quirk. While his inspiration for becoming a hero was the same as Izuku's, the Symbol of Peace, All Might, their beliefs differ: Katsuki feels a hero should never stop fighting or give up, regardless of the threat they face, and that always winning is the mark of a true hero. Furthermore, various heroes, civilians, and even villains have commented on his arrogance and conceit. However, Katsuki is unwavering in his aspirations of heroism, having outright refused Tomura Shigaraki's proposal for him to join the League of Villains because he views the villains as people who lose and not win like heroes. It is later revealed that Katsuki decided to help Izuku train One For All to atone for his actions. During Katsuki's discussion with All Might about his connections to Izuku, Katsuki admitted that he bullied Izuku as an outlet for his own insecurities and how he couldn't understand why Izuku would put others before himself. In truth, Katsuki really cares for Izuku despite how he acts, and wishes for him to continue improving his strength and Quirks, unlike before where he ridiculed Izuku's efforts and told him how he wouldn't amount to anything. His caring and protective side is further proven when he heard that Tomura was targeting One For All, immediately realizing that the villain leader would be going after Izuku and made attempts to keep Tomura away from him. After Izuku left U.A. in order to face All For One alone, as well as to protect his friends and family from danger, Katsuki, along with his classmates, departed from the school in order to bring him back. Following a battle to get Izuku to come to his senses, Katsuki genuinely apologizes to the former for his actions while calling Izuku by his first name, displaying his regret over trying to usurp Izuku's strengths by putting him down and for bullying him in the past. This proves that Katsuki is repentant over his own faults, with him willing to face them in order to atone for his past actions, and now seeing Izuku as a true ally, friend, and rival figure. Overall Abilities: Katsuki has proven to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, earning third place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, while placing first in both the U.A. Entrance Exam, having the most villain points, and the U.A. Sports Festival. Katsuki's fighting style is an all-out offense, using his Quirk's propulsive abilities to close the distance between him and his opponents, followed by a bombardment of close-range attacks that often start with a powerful right hook. Katsuki is able to use his Explosion to propel himself through mid-air, blind opponents, and release long-range blasts, among other applications. Explosion is a versatile Quirk, especially for battle situations, as the recoil caused by the blasts can be exploited by Katsuki for mobility purposes. During the U.S.J. Incident, Katsuki was able to single-handedly overpower and immobilize Kurogiri, a highly capable villain. At the U.A. Sports Festival, he defeated Fumikage Tokoyami and Shoto Todoroki, who were considered the two other strongest students in Class 1-A at that point. Many notable Pro Heroes, such as Shota Aizawa and All Might, have praised Katsuki's prowess, noting the sheer amount of potential he carries. The League of Villains also took notice of Katsuki's strength and went as far as trying to kidnap him so he could be converted to their cause, even if it meant sacrificing members of the Vanguard Action Squad as his potential membership would have far exceeded the risk. Katsuki is strong enough to fight toe-to-toe and even overpower Izuku when he's using 5% of One For All, though was pressured and nearly defeated once Izuku began using 8%. During the Joint Training Battle, Katsuki displayed that he can still fight efficiently despite his Quirk being weakened by the cold weather conditions of the winter season. Katsuki also became less insubordinate when paired with people and developed exceptional camaraderie, as he utilizes his abilities to repel opponents that overpower his comrades. When Katsuki discards his pride, his comradeship proves pivotal against any formidable adversaries they face. Not willing to let Izuku get ahead of him and never taking his intended goal of surpassing All Might lightly, Katsuki is always building up his power, improving his technique, and looking forward to knowing what he is currently unable to do, with the intent of being able to do so in the future. Katsuki's unstoppable drive to win is perhaps his biggest strength, with all of his classmates, including Izuku, having faith in his ability to earn victories. By the time of the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki's overall abilities and proficiency have significantly increased, evidenced by him singlehandedly defeating the Trigger-enhanced Serpenters after a drawn-out battle, and even matching the speed of Izuku using One For All at 30%. Like Izuku, Katsuki has also grown to the point he can fight side-by-side with world class pros, such as Endeavor, Gran Torino, Best Jeanist, Mirko, and Edgeshot. Enhanced Strength: Katsuki possesses a high-caliber physical strength, confirmed by his ability to use his Grenade Bracers without sustaining effects from recoil, whereas Izuku nearly dislocated his arm trying to do so. He's also strong enough to casually pick up and throw people of Izuku's size considerable distance with one arm. His physical power is even enough to draw blood from Izuku at 5% of One For All with a kick. Enhanced Reflexes: Perhaps Katsuki's greatest physical trait is his fantastic reflexes and reaction time. He's shown on several occasions overwhelming his foes with his speed or completely evading all their attacks while striking back such as in his battles with Ochaco, Cider House, and Izuku (even when the latter was at 5% of One For All). Once Izuku began utilizing 8% of his true power, Katsuki was quickly pushed back and nearly unable to keep up at all. His superb reflexes even allow him to evade a jet of carbonated water strong enough to cleave a streetlamp in two. Evading such high-speed water attacks is an impressive feat on Katsuki's part, as jets of water can cut through metal when travelling at 760 m/s (1700 mph), which is over twice the speed of sound. Enhanced Durability: Katsuki is shown to possess above average endurance and durability. He's tough enough to withstand the blowback of his explosions regularly with only moderate pain. He blocked an 8% kick from Izuku without his arm breaking as well, though received a major scratch because of it. He was even proven to withstand attacks from All Might (while restraining himself), Nine, and the Serpenters, but not without large amounts of pain. Enhanced Stamina: Katsuki has conditioned himself to fight on for long periods of time even when heavily injured. When inflicted with sword wounds by the Serpenters' (before and after becoming Trigger-enhanced) Sword Kill Quirks, Katsuki continued to fight on par with them, and only collapsed from his injuries after defeating the twin duo. During the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki suffered stab wounds from a 75% augmented Tomura Shigaraki's Rivet Stab Quirk but could still hold his own against several Near High-End Nomu with aid from other heroes. Keen Intellect: Katsuki has proven to be extremely intelligent and strategic, but his short temper often gets the best on him, causing him to overlook crucial details and commit mistakes. While he occasionally doesn't have preemptive strategies like most people, he does analyze his opponent's weaknesses such as when he realized Fumikage's weakness to light during the U.A. Sports Festival in the midst of battle and can anticipate worst-case scenarios. Even when fighting the weaker villains during the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, Katsuki quickly assessed which of the attacking villains were the most dangerous threat in the long term, and eventually figured out a way to incapacitate Kurogiri, one of the invasion's leaders. Katsuki also identified that Kurogiri's neck armor as weak point and bound the mist villain's body to hinder his escape, effectively trapping the League of Villains in the U.S.J. until Nomu intervened. When being warned of a monster attack by Katsuma Shimano, Katsuki was able to deduce that it was merely an illusion cast by Mahoro Shimano because it lacked a shadow. On the first day of the Remedial Exam, Katsuki realized that one of Masegaki Primary School students was secretly acting as the mastermind behind the children's misconduct, and soon identifies the perpetrating student towards the end of the day. Even outside of battle, Katsuki is incredibly perceptive, having deducted the truth about One For All by just piecing together comments and interactions surrounding Izuku, All Might, and even All For One. Katsuki can seemingly detect when people are lying to him by just reading into their behaviors and expressions, such as discerning Yo Shindo's congenial facade. Leadership Skills: Katsuki has always been criticized for his lack of cooperativeness, usually as a result of his overwhelming ego that prevents him from following the lead of others. However, thanks to Katsuki's very own determination, perfectionism, and intelligence, he is a capable leader should others decide to follow him instead. During round four of the Joint Training Battle, Setsuna Tokage admitted that even if her team had attacked him all at once, they stood no chance of victory. In the end, despite Class 1-B's exceptional teamwork and Setsuna's strategic planning, they failed to capture a single member of Class 1-A, mostly thanks to Katsuki's efforts, adaptability, and superior skills. More impressively, Katsuki's judicious forethought, allowed his team to secure victory in less than 5 minutes. Though he may not realize it, Katsuki is one of the main motivators of Class 1-A alongside Izuku, thanks to his power and indomitable drive to win.[5] Cooking Skill: Katsuki is surprisingly adept in culinary practice, being able to cut vegetables very quickly and with ease, as well as spotting how Shoto hadn't cut chives properly and scolding him for it. Musical Talent: Katsuki is highly skilled at playing the drums, having gone through classes in the past. Technical Skill: Katsuki possesses some degree of technical skill. He pinpointed the location of the Humarise base by combining the two digital world maps of Trigger Bombs and narrowing it down to a location that wasn't specified by Humarise, as well as finding the Trigger Bomb control system. Quirk Katsuki fighting style Katsuki employing his Quirk's versatility in his fighting style. Explosion (็ใฐใ็ ดใฏ Bakuha?): Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, allowing him to create strong explosions.[2] The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become.[12] If Katsuki overuses this power, his forearms will start to ache. Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of his Quirk, something that was acknowledged by Best Jeanist, a top Pro Hero; not only can Katsuki use the explosions for attacking, he can also use them to propel himself and navigate through the air at high speeds, allowing him to fly at his opponents without giving them time to react,[13] as well as evade incoming attacks, even while in the air.[14][15] The shockwave from an explosion can even be used as a shield. Katsuki can keep up his explosions continuously, long enough to break through Eijiro's hardening Quirk[14] and negate Shoto's "Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall" for a short while before being overwhelmed.[15] As part of his training, Katsuki submerged his hands into boiling water to expand his sweat glands, then created chain explosions toward the sky to increase the scale of his attacks. One For All (ใฏใณใปใใฉใผใปใชใผใซ Wan Fล ลru?): Transferred to him by Izuku, One For All allowed Katsuki to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level. This resulted in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability. It also provided an exceptional strength boost to his given Quirk, Explosion.[16] At the end of his and Izuku's fight against Nine, Katsuki lost One For All and the Quirk remained in Izuku's body. Toshinori initially suspected that Izuku kept One For All because Katsuki lost consciousness prior to the transfer's completion, but later theorized that the Quirk kept itself inside of Izuku due to his willingness to protect others, even if it meant losing One For All. Shoto: Full Name- Shoto Todoroki Appearance Shoto is a moderately tall and rather muscular young man who is well-built for his age. He has short hair that doesn't pass his neck, and wears bangs, parted twice to avoid obscuring his vision. His hair is evenly split between white on his right side and crimson red on his left, this unusual coloring being due to his Quirk. As another result, he also possesses heterochromia iridium, which causes his left eye's iris to appear turquoise, while his right is a brownish dark gray. His eyes, in shape, are quite thin and reserved. Additionally, he has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, which reaches from his hairline to halfway down his cheek. He usually has a serious expression. Despite this, however, several of the girls in his class have claimed that he is handsome and Mina Ashido even goes as far as to say that he's the best-looking guy in Class 1-A.[4] He wears the regular male U.A. uniform during school hours, replacing the usual brown dress shoe with casual pale cyan and gray lace-up sneakers. In his initial hero costume, he wears a plain off-white shirt with matching pants and boots, with two gold-colored straps going over his shoulders. He has what appears to be a material resembling ice covering his whole left side, even his head, although it is detachable, which he wears to reject the fire aspect of his Quirk. His updated hero costume consists of a dark blue jacket with elbow-length sleeves, its collar high and joined in the center by a gray neckpiece, baggy pants of the same color, a metal-plated combat vest and white boots, their soles and a thin line running down the center of each of them a darker pale gray. He also sports a brown utility belt around his waist, with little metal capsules containing medical supplies hanging off the front. Later, in the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc, his costume gains two burgundy wrist guards with metal plating, which help regulate his body temperature after his attacks, and his boots now have a set of straps. Sometime during Spring Break, Shoto further upgrades his costume, which has some visual similarities to his father's second costume. His wrist guards now feature armor-like bracing and are accompanied by plating from his wrist to his knuckles. His jacket now features a large gray-blue T-shaped stripe going from his waist to his armpits, and his utility belt now holds two large canisters along with his medical supplies. His costume is also a darker shade of blue than his earlier costumes. For Mission: Humarise, Shoto and his internees at the Endeavor Agency are given special advanced stealth costumes by the World Heroes Association for their mission to Otheon. Shoto designs his stealth costume to resemble the third variant with the entire suit made of a neoprene black jacket and slim black pants with built-in knee-pads, metal plates to regulate his body temperature and longer sleeves. He also sports a black utility belt around his waist with silver ironings, as well as two silver plates on his shoulders, with the letters "WHA" on it. Personality Shoto's original cold demeanor Shoto's original coldness. Shoto originally had a cold, aloof personality, which stemmed from his abusive upbringing and complicated family life. Focused and unemotional, Shoto preferred to keep to himself instead of hanging out with others. After the events of the U.A. Sports Festival, however, Shoto notably became more sociable and kind, even gaining a sense of humor and occasionally smiling, although still retaining some fragments of his previous distant attitude. After the Provisional Hero License Course, he began opening up more to his classmates and has lightened up from his usually serious demeanor. Nonetheless, Shoto is not quite used to socializing yet, coming off as a bit dense when understanding certain phrases and figures of speech. While usually quiet and reserved, Shoto initially possessed a moderate level of arrogance, which, combined with his solitary tendencies, sometimes made him take the initiative without considering the opinions of others, displaying confidence that he could take on any obstacles with his own strength. He used to be much more unfriendly as well, evidenced by when his cold attitude caused Inasa Yoarashi to resent him while he was none the wiser. Even in the present, Shoto seems to prefer acting alone, although only for practical purposes since doing so allows him to unleash his full power without worrying about friendly fire. Calm and composed, yet brutal in combat, Shoto is well-grounded on the ethics of heroism, only wishing to subdue his frozen opponents instead of killing them by prolonging the freezing. Shoto had a deep loathing for his fire abilities, which he inherited from Endeavor, as it symbolized his father's wickedness towards him and his mother as well as what he was born to be: a tool to surpass All Might, a fate that he detested. As such, Shoto decided to rely solely on his freezing power and never use the other half of his Quirk in battles (save only for melting his ice), going so far as to cover his left torso and arm with ice in his first Hero Costume to symbolize his rebellion against his father. Shoto often felt bothered by Endeavor's mere presence, and could barely contain his anger while talking to him, especially whenever the Pro Hero brought up the purpose he had intended for his son since before birth. Ironically though, Shoto's animosity towards his father made him more like how Endeavor was, being apathetic and indifferent towards others while obsessively focusing on his own goal of rejecting his father. Upon first meeting him, Inasa noticed that Shoto had the same hate-filled glare that Endeavor had due to his hatred driving him while simultaneously holding him back from his full potential. During his match with Izuku Midoriya in the U.A. Sports Festival, Izuku's speech made the memory of his mother's supportive words resurface, and for the first time since his childhood, Shoto used his firepower in combat. After the battle, Shoto had mixed feelings about using his left side, but after reconciling with his mother, Shoto eventually came to terms with the half he once hated and became willing to train it further, now realizing that it is his Quirk and not his father's. Despite being scarred by her as a young child, Shoto shows no hate or disliking towards his mother, visiting her often ever since the end of the Sports Festival. Shoto draws his heroic values from All Might, a trait he shares with Izuku and Katsuki Bakugo, having fond memories of watching the Symbol of Peace on television with Rei. Despite his difficult past, Shoto doesn't allow his hatred of Endeavor to completely cloud his judgement and still acknowledges him for his skills and capabilities as one of Japan's top Heroes. He chose to intern at his father's agency during the Hero Agency Internships and later the Hero Work-Studies program, although he made it clear that this was purely for his own benefit and learning experience rather than any desire to spend time with him. Shoto is quite reflective of his own growth, realizing how much Izuku's words had changed his perspective and how better he became. Due to this, Shoto was not against his father deciding that he would try and make amends with his family and become a better person, knowing from experience that a single thing can change a person if they allow it to. However, Shoto's grudge towards Endeavor has not yet disappeared, even if he respects his father's ability as a Hero, self-admitting that such resentment can't vanish so easily and that he was wrong in trying to bury it. Having been denied a normal childhood so that his father could train him to realize his own selfish ambitions, Shoto still holds various psychological scars, which tend to reemerge when others compare him to Endeavor. Because of this and Izuku's influence, Shoto now strives to become a Hero, but without walking the same path his father did. Shoto remains relatively cold towards Endeavor and has made it clear that forgiveness for his past treatment of him and his mother is difficult, but has also demonstrated worry about his father's safety. Ever since Endeavor tried to repair his relationship with his family, Shoto has taken a cautious, yet hopeful approach to this development.[5] Unlike his brother Natsuo, Shoto does not seem against the possibility of forgiving his father; however, he has made it clear to Endeavor that he must earn it. While ruminating over the matter, Izuku believes that Shoto is preparing to forgive his father and is waiting for the right time to do so.[6] Abilities Shoto freezes villains Shoto effortlessly defeating villains at the U.S.J.. Overall Abilities: Having been trained by his father, Endeavor, at a young age, Shoto entered U.A. High School through recommendations and has been established as one of the most powerful students in Class 1-A. He earned 2nd place in both the Quirk Apprehension Test and U.A. Sports Festival. Shoto also has a great handle over his versatile and powerful Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, which grants him incredible dual-element capabilities. Using the right side of his body, Shoto can drastically lower temperatures and freeze anything he touches, and generate ice that he can freely mold into numerous constructs that include ice waves to cover large areas and ice barriers for defense.[3][7][8][9] Shoto also employs his cryokinetic abilities for mobility purposes, such as stacking ice shards behind his back to propel himself forward, glaciating the ground to skate on it, or his signature move, creating trails of ice on which he can surf.[10][11][12] From the left side of his body, Shoto can eloquently increase thermokinetics and release scorching hot flames in the form of consuming streams or protective waves.[13] Overall, Shoto has tremendous power, but because of past decisions and circumstances, such as his intentional neglect of one half of his Quirk, he has yet to reach his full potential. Shoto freezes Chimera With help from his friends, Shoto defeats the fully powered Chimera. At the U.S.J., Shoto could overpower small-time villains at the Landslide Zone by himself and later showcased elite judgment, combat awareness, and athletic ability during the U.A. Sports Festival.[14] At the festival, Shoto was able to neutralize a Villain Bot-Executor, defeat his swift classmates, Hanta Sero and Tenya Ida, as well as fight on par with Izuku Midoriya for a prolonged period to a nigh-draw. In his battle against Izuku, a fan claimed that Shoto was already stronger than the average Pro Hero. When he was pitted against Katsuki Bakugo in the final round of the Sports Festival, there was a chance Shoto could've won the match using his fire powers. Still, due to inner turmoil, he extinguished his inferno, leaving him open to Katsuki's "Howitzer Impact" and losing the match. Starting with the Hosu Incident, Shoto began the full embracement of his left side, as well as his pyro-cryogenic interchangeability, particularly when he, Izuku, and Tenya faced off against the Hero Killer: Stain. Following his run-in with the Hero Killer, Shoto is recognized as one of strongest students of Class 1-A, as noted by Pixie-Bob.[15] While Shoto may possess full supremacy over his cryokinesis, the control over his pyrokinesis could have been more effective, especially in comparison to that of Endeavor. However, after the third match of the Joint Training Battle, Shoto realized that he had disregarded his left side for too long, which had put him and his team in a disadvantage and resolved to achieve greater mastery over his pyrokinetic abilities by learning the fundamentals of "Flashfire Fist", Endeavor's signature technique. Thanks to his second internship, Shoto's handling over his left side has improved significantly, as he can now use his pyrokinesis in a new variety of ways, such as boosting his movement speed, launching himself through the air, and attacking with blaze-powered punches. And though Shoto is powerful, contending with individuals such as Stain, Eraser Head, Wolfram, Moonfish, Mr. Compress, Gang Orca, Chimera, Ending, and Tomura Shigaraki require Shoto's effective camaraderie with multiple people to prevail against such formidable opponents, excluding Leviathan. That was hardly the case during the climax of the Paranormal Liberation War, wherein he faced his brother Dabi in a battle of flames that nearly resulted in Shoto being burned alive, had it not been for Izuku's brief intervention. As the body-charring Todoroki brothers resumed their full-power pyrokinetic clash, Shoto lost, but Dabi chose to spare his brother, as killing him without Endeavor watching would be pointless. Shoto defeats Dabi Shoto overpowers and defeats Dabi, his seemingly stronger brother. During Class A's mission to bring Izuku back to U.A., after he left following the war events, Shoto displayed an even greater mastery over his cryokinetic abilities. In particular, his control over the shape of his ice has become much more refined, forming a massive vertical pillar of ice with Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall, and even creating a smooth curved ramp without the need for a solid framework. Furthermore, he's shown the ability to use his signature move, "Flashfreeze Heatwave", without needing to cool the air down first; now he can put his hands together and unleash the power of both sides at once to create the same effect. Due to his training with the Pussycats, Shoto has gained increased efficiency over his Half-Cold Half-Hot Quirk, allowing him to fight on equal terms with Dabi come the Final War. Despite Dabi's Blueflame Quirk being thermally superior (burning at temperatures exceeding 3000ยฐF), Shoto's newly acquired cold flames can compensate for his brother's flames, giving him two Quirks worth of power strong enough to freeze Kamino and overpower Dabi, besting his older brother (albeit with assistance from the flaming sidekickers), with minimal injuries. However, Shoto was caught off guard by Dabi's Awakening-like power enhancement, which allowed him to copy Shoto's Phosphor technique before getting warped away to face Endeavor. Later on, with the aid of Tenya, Shoto was able to arrive at Gunga Mountain Villa and assisted his family in routing Dabi's pending self-destruction by unleashing a stronger version of "Great Glacial Aegir" to defeat his eldest brother once and for all. Enhanced Durability: Shoto has proven himself to be quite resilient, being able to withstand multiple attacks from Izuku, including a direct, One For All-enhanced punch at 5% strength to the stomach, without sustaining major injuries.[16] During his fight with Leviathan, Shoto was able to withstand his punch, which was strong enough to destroy the floor of the Humarise headquarters. One of the most impressive examples of Shoto's resilience, was when he endured the superior pyrokinesis of Dabi. However, Shoto was shielded by his own pyrokinesis, and Dabi intentionally held back in his final attack that left Shoto alive. Enhanced Stamina: Shoto has shown to endure combat even while injured. For example, in his battle with Stain, he was able to continue fighting and supporting his allies despite suffering from multiple bleeding injuries on his arm and face,[13] and was still able to drag the villain's unconscious body once the battle is over.[17] When he engaged Dabi in a pyrokinetic brawl, Shoto continued to fight on despite his body becoming charred. Enhanced Agility: Shoto is fast, agile, and has quick reflexes. He was able to keep first place during most of the Obstacle Race during the Sports Festival thanks to his athletic ability. He repeatedly created ice walls within a split second to prevent himself from getting thrown out of the ring through his matchups with Izuku and Katsuki.[18] He was the only one in Class 1-A capable of at least partly reacting to and dodging Tenya's Recipro Burst. He could also partially dodge a knife thrown at his face and several other attacks by Stain, a notably swift opponent.[13] Keen Intellect: Shoto has proven to be a very intelligent person. And despite his training, Shoto is also very skilled in academics, having scored 5th place in the midterms.[19] During the U.S.J. Incident, Shoto accurately extrapolated that the invading villains had a Quirk user amongst their ranks that could jam communications. At the same time, he realized the attacking villains had an agenda and interrogated some of them to get answers.[20] Shoto's theory was proven correct, as the villain's goal was to kill All Might. Shoto also deduced Izuku had a connection to All Might after observing Izuku's power and matching it to that of All Might when the latter was fighting Nomu. Though on point about Izuku's link to the Symbol of Peace, Shoto incorrectly believed Izuku might be All Might's secret love child.[21] Shortly before the Hosu Incident, Shoto noticed the look of anger in Tenya's eyes and easily surmised that he was only taking up an internship in Hosu City to seek vengeance on the Hero Killer: Stain. While on patrol in Hosu, Shoto was able to work out the location of Izuku, Tenya, and Stain from an emergency call and arrive in time; however, he did complain it took a while, as Izuku didn't relay more than the exact location.[22] When he and Momo Yaoyorozu were paired together to face Eraser Head for their First Term Final Exam, Shoto suggested that Momo continuously creates random objects until she was unable to do so, which would signify that the Eraser Hero is nearby, all in attempt to lure him out and act as a diversion so Momo can make her way to the escape gate. Shoto's strategy worked, but as explained by Eraser Head, it was too offensive-oriented, as Shoto had placed the burden on himself and needed to trust Momo more. After being scolded by his teacher and approached by his returning classmate, Shoto admitted to being aware of Momo having a plan from the start of their matchup and not inquiring about it before properly cooperating with her. Observing the second match of the Joint Training Battle involving the teams of Momo and Itsuka Kendo, Shoto noticed a flaw in Itsuka's precautionary modus operandi in separating Momo from her Class 1-A teammates. He elucidated that if she wanted to be cautious of Momo, then Itsuka would've had her entire team overwhelm the Everything Hero at the beginning of the match.[23] After witnessing Izuku's awakening of a second Quirk, Shoto speculated that the One For All inheritor may be like him, having multiple powers in one singular ability, but Shoto didn't yet recognize the true depth of Izuku's new power.[24] Hanta: Full Name- Hanta Sero Appearance Hanta is a tall, lean young man with chin-length black hair spiked downwards, with jagged bangs coming about halfway down his forehead. He has almond-shaped eyes, usually stretched quite broad and rather large, with small pupils and straight teeth that dominate his grin; however, according to Katsuki Bakugo[1] and Present Mic,[2] he has a rather plain face. His elbows have the shape of cylindrical tape dispensers, from which he fires his Tape Quirk. His hero costume consists of a black, skin-tight bodysuit with a turtleneck, plain apart from a white design on his mid-torso area, and two yellow trimmings around each of his elbow-length sleeves. He wears white boots lined with yellow and has short white bands around his waist and the sides of his thighs, a larger one across his chest to connect his shoulder pads, shaped like tape dispensers. He completes his outfit with a yellow helmet, shaped similarly to his shoulder pads, with a sizeable black visor obscuring his face. Personality Hanta is amicable and has proven to be one of the more sociable members of Class 1-A. He can sometimes be loud and showy, often trying to impress his peers with his Quirk. He is often the only person to call his classmates out when they act crazy. He is pretty humorous and usually makes jokes with his classmates. However, when push comes to shove, Hanta is a brave hero-in-training who wishes to prosper on his while helping others do the same. He makes friends with those around him and is shown to be a very laid-back guy. Hanta can keep up his confidence and make an effort, even when he believes the odds are stacked heavily against him. This determination is shown when he faced Shoto Todoroki during the Sports Festival and admitted that he felt he couldn't win, but he soon attacked Shoto, saying that he didn't want to lose either. Despite his crushing defeat afterward and failing the Final Exam due to being put asleep by Midnight, he still retains his willingness to continue and improve alongside his classmates. Hanta has a teasing side that he shows on occasion, even towards the high-tempered Katsuki Bakugo, as he was seen jeering at him along with Minoru Mineta for not cleaning their dorms windowsills properly. He can also be one to speak his mind and at times insult others without meaning to, such as when he compared the functions of Momo Yaoyorozuโs Creation Quirk to the excrement process, upsetting her and then being forced to apologize by Kyoka Jiro. Though not openly flirtatious like Denki or Minoru, Hanta still has some interest in girls. This is primarily seen during the Provisional License Exam when Izuku informs him of the girl who transformed into a clone of Ochaco; he starts violently shaking Izuku and asking him if she was naked then as well. Later, he informed Denki and Minoru of what happened with Izuku and "Camie", proving that he also has a habit of spreading gossip. Abilities Hanta restrains students Hanta using his Quirk proficiency to subdue multiple opponents at once. Overall Abilities: Hanta has proven himself a very competent combatant, with a great handle on his versatile Quirk, Tape. He uses his tape to bind targets from afar, restraining them from action by knotting his tape around their bodies. He prefers to remain at a safe distance while firing large amounts of tape at his opponents with impressive accuracy. Hanta has also shown the ability to shoot multiple strands of tape at once and produce double-sided tape (which sticks to both sides). Hanta frequently uses Tape for mobility, attaching the adhesive material to surfaces and using them to swing himself through the air or pull himself towards the attachment points. Furthermore, by spreading tape around a room or pathway, Hanta can easily create traps and blockades for enemies. Hanta's overall fighting style makes him a highly formidable long-range combatant. Hanta may also take pieces of his tape for more conventional uses, like sticking one object to another, significantly when reinforcing barricades and walls. Allies can also use stray pieces of tape to their advantage, even if Hanta finds himself unable to act. Hanta also has excellent camaraderie, not only using his Tape to help distance his comrades from powerful opponents but also using his Quirk in tandem with the Quirks of other people, such as Ochaco Uraraka's Zero Gravity. This specific combination allows strings of tape attached to floating objects to create a unique trap. During the U.S.J. Incident, Hanta and Rikido Sato capitalized on Ochaco running interference against Kurogiri to subdue the villain even further success. When pitted against Shoto Todoroki, one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, at the U.A. Sports Festival, Hanta was able to bind him with tape before the latter could react swiftly and nearly defeat him until Shoto unleashed a massive wall of ice that immobilized and defeated Hanta. His abilities eventually garnered the attention of The Lurkers (consisting of Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, and Mt. Lady), allowing Hanta to intern under the trio of powerful heroes and improve on close and efficient team maneuvers. Enhanced Strength: Hanta has above average physical strength, as he can use his tape to swing himself up and around very high objects and slings other people everywhere with no noticeable difficulty or strain. Tactical Intellect: While Hanta may not be one of his class's more academically astute members, he makes up for it with his own level of strategic and tactical skills. During the fourth round of the Joint Training Battle, Hanta observed the mechanics of Setsuna Tokage's Lizard Tail Splitter Quirk and correctly deduced her inability to consistently regrow pieces of her body, all while realizing she is akin to Momo: having an exhaustion-inducing drawback due to the nature of her Quirk causes a loss in focus. With these deductions and Kyoka's comment on the lowered noise production caused by the recommended student, Hanta concluded that Setsuna's maximum fragmentation renders it difficult for her to fight at full power, hence why she recalls as much of her split anatomy to circumvent her time limit and stamina loss. Capitalizing on this facet, Hanta taped one of Katsuki's grenades to a piece of Setsuna she called back, allowing Katsuki to defeat her and secure victory for their team. Tape (ใใผใ Tฤpu?): Hanta's Quirk is that he has tape dispenser-like organs in his elbows, from which he can shoot long cellophane tape-like strips; he can also retract them. They appear to be somewhat sturdier than regular tape. Overuse of his Quirk will cause his skin to dry out. He can use his tape to wrap people, swing long distances, and create traps, among other applications. As part of his training, Hanta continuously produced tape from his arms in order to increase his capacity, and improve his tape's textile strength and shooting speed. Denki: Full Name- Denki Kaminari Appearance Denki has short gold hair, parted to the right with a black lightning-shaped streak on the left of his side fringe, which is angled to partially obscure his left eye. He has slanted, somewhat triangular golden eyes and notably small eyebrows. He's slimmer than most male students in his class, with little visible muscle mass. During the Paranormal Liberation War, Denki gained a scar on his upper left forehead following his injury from Mr. Compress' attack, although his hair covers it rather well.[1] In his original hero costume, he wears a plain white shirt, over which he wears an open black jacket with a white lightning pattern across his back and matching pants with two lines running down his legs. He has a single, square-shaped earphone over his right ear, resembling a radio antenna sticking out of the top. His updated hero costume consists of a slightly shorter black jacket with fewer white patterns, only two near the hem and collar, and a yellow-rimmed lightning bolt around each of his shoulders. He still wears matching black pants, but they only have a small zig-zag near each of their cuffs, and he wears a belt and a white V-neck shirt. Around his right wrist, he wears a wristband with a circular mechanism from which he can shoot disc-shaped Pointers, which aid him in aiming his Quirk. He also wears a black choker with a silver buckle on the left side and a headset with a blue-tinted visor. Personality Denki is a friendly, social, and energetic boy who enjoys hanging out with others. He is rather casual when interacting with other people, including the generally unfriendly Katsuki Bakugo, although he's not above petty complaining or overreacting if he feels annoyed or shocked enough. Denki may come off as blunt and reckless at times but is always well-meaning. He encourages others to be themselves and become more comfortable doing what they like. This motivational aspect is shown when he compliments Kyoka's skill with multiple musical instruments during preparation for the U.A. School Festival. Denki is somewhat flirtatious towards the girls in and out of his class, sometimes accompanying Minoru Mineta on his schemes and trying to pass himself off as a smooth talker. He is not very lucky with his approaches, though, frequently having his advances ignored or outright rejected by those he asks out. Denki is also a bit of a jokester and sometimes teases others with playful comments. Overall, Denki is interested in appearing cool and trendy to impress people but has a shallow understanding of how to do so correctly. Because of that, he is easily influenced by what's popular or stylish at the moment, even if it's due to villain action. Denki could be more academically bright, requiring massive help with studying due to his general disinterest and neglect of school duties. He does not appear to pay much attention in classes, gets quickly bored from lectures, and suffers anxiety attacks when dealing with tests, at which point he becomes increasingly agitated and aggressive. Frequently showing a lack of tact and smarts in and outside of school, Denki may give off the impression of being stupid or foolish, leading others to throw snide remarks at him, especially Kyoka Jiro, or underestimate his capabilities as a hero. Despite this, Denki can show surprising knowledge about specific areas such as literature, art, and music, possessing an extensive vocabulary that shows up now and then. Denki becomes distraught when put into stressful situations, appearing spineless and incompetent to foes and allies alike. During combat, he is swift to panic and may accidentally activate his Quirk in the face of imminent danger, leaving himself vulnerable. He becomes more reluctant to use his full power when there are allies close to him, being afraid of hurting them through collateral damage from his explosive bolts. He becomes more confident in his fighting abilities when he is assured that all his allies will be safe from his powers. He does not tolerate others looking down on him, and his classmates and will defend them if necessary. Whenever Denki exceeds his wattage limit, he loses his ability to discharge energy, with his entire personality changing into that of a giggling idiot for a certain period until he reverts to normal. In this state, he is always giving thumbs-ups as a way to let others know that he is okay. Overall Abilities: While Denki doesn't possess any direct combat abilities, he compensates for this with his moderate handle on the destructive, widespread power of his Quirk. When using Electrification, Denki gains a defense mechanism that shocks anyone who comes into contact with him, leaving them slightly, if not wholly, paralyzed. As a result, Denki can be somewhat difficult to face in battle, especially for those that rely on close-quarters combat. If Denki emits enough electricity, it automatically discharges in all directions, shocking anyone close to him regardless if there's physical contact or not. This aspect of Electrification makes Denki very effective in battles involving many opponents, but it can also turn him into a burden if there are allies around who can't protect themselves from his bolts. Denki can also use his electrokinetics to turn himself into a makeshift lightning rod to diffuse the electrical attacks of his opponents. Denki incapacitated several villains that had surrounded him, Kyoka, and Momo at the U.S.J Incident and single-handedly short-circuited a giant Villain Bot at the U.A. Sports Festival. He showcased significant improvement during the Provisional Hero License Exam, wherein he teamed up with Katsuki and Eijiro Kirishima to battle Seiji Shishikura, one of the most formidable students of Shiketsu High School. After Seiji overpowered Katsuki and Eijiro, Denki utilized his improved Quirk handling in tandem with his new Sharpshooting Gear to catch the flesh-manipulating student off-guard and successfully subdue him, allowing Katsuki and Eijiro to break free from the effects of Seiji's Meatball Quirk, and ultimately defeat him. During the first round of the Joint Training Battle, Denki demonstrated the mettle to take on Jurota Shishida, one of the strongest students in Class 1-B, but couldn't keep up with the latter's enhanced prowess. During Nine's attack on Nabu Island, Denki teamed with Eijiro and Katsuki to efficaciously take on Mummy 's puppet assault and acted as a lightning rod to counteract Nine 's Weather Manipulation Quirk to protect Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki. His abilities eventually garnered the attention of The Lurkers (consisting of Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, and Mt. Lady), allowing Denki to intern under the trio of powerful heroes and improve on close and efficient team maneuvers. Tactical Intellect: Despite not being one of the more intelligent members of Class 1-A, Denki possesses some strategic and tactical skills. During the Joint Training Battle, he devised a strategy to defeat Ibara Shiozaki, one of Class 1-B 's most formidable students. Having learned from his first battle with her at the U.A. Sports Festival that her vines are immune to electricity, Denki allowed himself to act as a decoy and be the only one captured so that he could produce enough electricity to divide the attention of the opposing team. Denki's plan enabled Hitoshi Shinso to discreetly brainwash Ibara while Tsuyu Asui captured her before subduing Hiryu Rin, which in turn defeated Jurota. Denki's ingenuity, which secured victory for his team, can be rather impressive when the situation calls for it. Electrification (ๅธฏใใ้ปใงใ Taiden?): Denki's Quirk allows him to generate electricity and cover his body in it. While he can also emit this energy over a distance, Denki has little to no control over it, meaning it will go everywhere indiscriminately. Exceeding his wattage limit causes his brain to short-circuit, leaving him in a vulnerable state for 1 hour.[2] Denki is also able to absorb and neutralize electricity and other lightning-based Quirks.[3] As part of his training, Denki ran his currents of electricity through a high-capacity battery so he can handle larger amounts of electricity. Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million Volts (็กใๅทฎใๅฅในใคๆพใปใ้ปใงใ130ไธใพใVใใซใ Musabetsu Hลden Hyakusanjลซ-man Boruto?): Denki releases a large amount of electricity to shock everyone around him. Since 1,300,000 volts is his current limit, using this technique makes his brain short-circuit for 1 hour. Indiscriminate Shock 2 Million Volts: Denki is capable of increasing the output of his Indiscriminate Shock to 2 million volts, though this causes his brain to short circuit faster.[4] Target Electo (ใฟใผใฒใใใจใฌใฏใ Tฤgettoerekuto?):[5] Using his pointers, Denki fires a straight line of electricity towards it. Mashirao: Full Name- Mashirao Ojiro Appearance Mashirao is a muscular young man with short blond hair swept to the front of his head. He has thin eyes with no lower eyelashes. Unlike the other students in his class, he wears pale gray sneakers with his school uniform instead of the brown dress shoes worn by everyone else, and he has the bottom button of his blazer he leaves casually undone. Due to his Quirk, he also has a tail, which is entirely hairless, save for the tip. Mashirao's hero costume is a plain karate gi, tied with a black belt, its collar partially lined with fur. He also wears black boots with sand blue details. Before the Provisional Hero License Exam, his costume, including sand blue fingerless gloves, is slightly upgraded. Mashirao added an oversized coat to his hero costume during the Joint Training Battle. Personality Mashirao has a very calm and noble attitude and a profound sense of dignity, which prevents him from accepting results he doesn't feel he earned with his own abilities. He is also described as a hard worker. Along with a strong sense of dignity, Mashirao can be described as sheepish and bashful, not very often enjoying the spotlight and being easily embarrassed. He is humble yet also reliable and focused during hero work. A recurring joke is that others view Mashirao as "plain," which profoundly upsets him, showing that he's sensitive and self-conscious about his personality and abilities. He tends to be shocked quite easily, such as when he sees Ochaco punch herself in the face and when Eri receives a much bigger sword than her during Class 1-A's Christmas party. When something excites him, he wags his tail to a dog, though this is only ever seen in the manga. Overall Abilities: Mashirao has proven himself to be a relatively capable combatant regarding physical abilities. His skills earned him 7th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Mashirao uses his Quirk, Tail, to deliver direct attacks or assist his movements in battle. His fighting style involves combining his prehensile tail with his knowledge of martial arts to engage enemies in close-range combat, performing fast and acrobatic techniques. Tail plays a vital role in Mashirao's speed and mobility, as he can boost himself in the air by slapping his tail on the ground with sufficient force, allowing him to bypass obstacles on the ground. However, Ectoplasm noted that, despite the tailed hero's combat efficiency, Mashirao fights predictably, as tailed humans like him tend to move in a pattern that can be easily exploited. To eliminate this factor, Mashirao improved the fundamentals of his movements to become less predictable in combat. At the U.S.J., Mashirao was more than capable of singlehandedly defeating multiple low-tier members of the League of Villains. During the third match of the Joint Training Battle, Mashirao temporarily held his own against Sen Kaibara but was nearly overwhelmed by the latterโs onslaught, had it not been for the timely arrival of Tenya Ida. Even after receiving minor injuries from his bout with Sen, Mashirao was able to ambush Pony Tsunotori successfully, the fastest student in Class 1-B, before Juzo Honenuki liquefied the ground underneath the pair and Mezo Shoji. But after Mezo freed himself, Mashirao, and Pony from the softened earth, Mashirao was blindsided and swiftly captured by the restrained Pony. His abilities eventually garnered the attention of Shishido, allowing Mashirao to intern under the No. 13 Pro Hero and improve his flurry of attacks and the ability to read ahead of situations. On Nabu Island, Mashirao had the mettle to be the first of his class to take on the powerful villain, Chimera, before being aided by Fumikage Tokoyami. After Fumikage left, Mashirao, despite the odds, was able to ward off Chojuro for an extended period until Fumikage returned with reinforcements, at which point, the beastly villain soundly surmounted the Martial Arts Hero. The next day, Mashirao, along with Kyoka Jiro, acted as the fourth line of defense against Nine and effectively ambushed him before he subdued the two with his Hydra Quirk. Soon after, Mashirao and Kyoka aided Mezo against the mighty foe, forcing Nine into using the full power of his Air Wall Quirk to defeat the trio of students. Keen Intellect: Mashirao is known to be quite intelligent, scoring 8th place in the midterms, displaying his skill in academics. At the U.A. Sports Festival, Mashirao withdrew from the competition following the Cavalry Battle, having realized that Hitoshi Shinso used his Quirk to control him, Nirengeki Shoda, and Yuga Aoyama. While he didn't yet fully understand the mechanics behind Hitoshi's Brainwashing Quirk, Mashirao knew that speaking to the Class 1-C student was a factor, hence why he warned Izuku Midoriya against doing so. Mashirao also seems to be knowledgeable of various workout techniques as he meticulously explained the exercise Izuku was performing throughout one of their classes, which involved the latter making trembling-like movements; the Isometric muscle contraction thatโs needed to hold one's body above a seat makes it an easy way to workout without having to move. When he traded blows with Sen, Mashirao measured the strength of the Class 1-B student's attacks and concluded that it was useless to counter or block his gyrating attacks, which Mashirao knew were amplified by Sen's drill gloves. Mashirao also deduced the weakness of Pony's Horn Cannon Quirk, so he held her horns in place to keep them from being fired off. Quirk Tail (ๅฐปใใฃๅฐพใฝ Shippo?): Mashirao's Quirk is that he has a long, powerful, sturdy tail. His tail effectively functions as a third arm that he can use to grab things. Furthermore, it's long and strong enough to break objects made of metal, wrap around enemies, and support Mashirao's body weight. Mashirao is incredibly adept at using his tail, combining it with his knowledge of martial arts to engage enemies in close-range combat, performing fast and acrobatic moves. His tail can also increase his speed and mobility by whipping it down against the ground to use it like a springboard. As part of his training, Mashirao continuously used his tail to attack a body-hardened Eijiro Kirishima, and with each hit, the strength and durability of Mashirao's Quirk increased.
