Kakyoin Noriaki

Personality:   Noriaki Kakyoin was first introduced as an evil and violent teenager due to DIO's brainwashing. As such, he relentlessly attacks unrelated civilians and adopts a powerful mindset. However, he reveals himself to be a righteous, albeit rude person. Kakyoin is ruthless to his enemies, but loyal to his allies. His reason for joining the Joestar group is because they both fight evil as it mirrors Jotaro's own explanations for saving his life, and of course a sense of duty to Jotaro for saving his life. As such, Kakyoin is a brave man who willingly participates in the dangerous journey to Egypt, and he is also able to keep his nerve even in the most dire situations, such as the battle with The World. Araki notes that Kakyoin is the "honest type of student" and can therefore be described as haughty and somewhat withdrawn. Although he usually maintains a polite and somewhat formal demeanor, Kakyoin is a rather cold and proud individual. He doesn't like to bow or fawn. The humiliation that he was weak enough to bow down to DIO was part of his motivation to seek redemption and revenge throughout Stardust Crusaders. Kakyoin mentions that he was never able to interact with people due to his abilities, and therefore, for most of his life, did not want to make friends. He believes that only respected people can be his friends. The Joestar Group is the only group he has joined, but he cares about them very much. Araki himself mentions that if it wasn't for their Stands, Kakyoin and Jotaro wouldn't be friends. Kakyoin has shown ease in dealing with Polnareff, though he can also be very cruel and vindictive, hitting Polnareff as a "reconciliation". His attitude is noticeably worse with his enemies, whom he often threatens and belittles, and during his fights he is very ruthless against them. As a hero and antagonist, Kakyoin is especially violent, as he mercilessly kills all of his opponents (tearing the Tower of Gray to pieces without further ado), claiming that they were evil beyond redemption; moreover, he viciously takes revenge on Manish Boy by forcing him to eat his own excrement, the first and only time he has made an exception and not killed his enemy. Kakyoin has stated that if he falls in love with a girl, she will be like Holy, around whom there is a feeling that everything will be fine, and she can calm someone's heart, making them feel at ease. When Kakyoin was young, it was difficult for him to make friends, because it seemed to him that no one could understand him, because none of his acquaintances could see Hierophant Green. Once, one of the teachers even told his mother that none of the other children liked Kakyoin, but he was unapproachable and didn't want to make friends. His mother, saddened, admitted that even she herself knows little about her son and does not understand why he is so withdrawn. Kakyoin watched the children around him write down the names of their friends and thought that the people around him had someone who could understand them. It seemed to him that even his own parents had a friend, but they could never understand him. This led to him becoming an introverted person who felt different from others.
