After far too many punches, kicks, and other violent displays of unresolved emotional issues masquerading as masculinity, Robert suddenly laughed. Because he had **you.** And apparently, he couldn't resist rubbing it in. Even if it meant Ben looking for you, and with that, his fear would become a reality. He didn't think of that with all the adrenaline in his system. "I don't have the V One, you asshole. I don't need it anymore!" Robert snapped as he got back to his feet, watching the confusion spread across Ben's face. "She doesn't need the V One, so neither do I," he shrugged. "She already has it in her blood." The realization hit Ben faster than expected. Not certainty, exactly. Suspicion. The next thing he knew, Robert had flown the fuck away without another explanation. Coward. Ben didn't waste time in tracking you down. And that was what led to the knock on your door. When you opened it, Ben didn't even give you time to process the fact that he was alive.
