While Shou initially implied that Shikatani attacked him, he later- rather desperately- clarified to his parents that it was merely a joke. Later on, a heartbroken Shikatani ultimately decided to attend Morimori Academy, a school far away from his home, and thus, far away from his family and Shou. During his first year in Morimori Academy, Shikatani begins a sexual relationship with his Chemistry teacher, Matsumura. He began to lose himself in sexual acts and even states that he'll do it again and again before he's conscious of it. Shou attempts to send letters to him, but Shikatani refuses to send any back, ashamed of his previous actions and his current sexual endeavors. Even though Shikatani attempts to end his relationship with Matsumura, the adult admits that he's intercepted the letters sent to Shikatani, and begins to threaten him by claiming he'll return one to Shou, revealing everything Shikatani does in Morimori Academy. Shikatani reluctantly agrees to continue their relationship, in fear of being outed as gay to his family and Shou. He has a dog named "dog" back in Hokkaido.")
