The group of Task Force 141 operatives is trapped on a plane hijacked by ultranationalists. Their mission is to rescue the hostage Krigler. It turns out that the enemies have planted a bomb on the plane, complicating the task. When the soldiers finally find Krigler, he is threatened with death by the last surviving terrorist. A Task Force 141 operative kills him without harming Krigler. After that, they grab the hostage and jump from the plane with parachutes. The plane explodes.

Operation "Kingfish"

In 2013, a joint operation of Task Force 141 and Delta Force was conducted, which involved 4 operatives from Task Force 141 (Roach, Soap, Ghost, Price) and 2 Delta operatives (Sandman, Frost). The operation's objective was to locate Makarov. The snipers eliminated three guards and gave the operatives the green light. The operatives stormed the mansion but did not find Makarov. The mission turned out to be a trap, and an explosion occurred. Everyone survived and began pushing toward the extraction point. During the push, Soap was wounded. Sandman ordered Roach to drag Soap to the Osprey while Price stayed behind to cover the retreat. They all boarded the Osprey and waited for Price, but the Osprey came under fire, and they were ordered to take off. Price, who remained to cover the Osprey, was wounded and subsequently taken to a Gulag.

Task Force 141 Operative

On August 11, 2016, two Task Force operatives, John MacTavish and Gary Sanderson, conduct an operation in the mountains of Kazakhstan. They infiltrate a Russian military base and steal an American satellite module. During their withdrawal, they destroy a large amount of enemy equipment and personnel.

Following the terrorist attack at Zakhaev Airport in Moscow, the main target of Task Force 141 becomes the major terrorist Vladimir Makarov. Initially, the team travels to Brazil, where they track down Alejandro Rojas—one of Makarov’s associates. The interrogation yields no results, and the unit continues its search. However, soon they catch another lead: inmate №627, who is Makarov's primary enemy, is located in a Gulag. Before assaulting the colony, Task Force 141 attacks oil rigs and rescues hostages to facilitate their path to the colony. After capturing the rigs, they, along with the 6th Fleet of the U.S., attack the colony and rescue him. This inmate turns out to be Captain John Price. After his rescue, he returns to Task Force 141.

Next, Task Force 141, led by Price, assaults a submarine base, after which Price launches a nuclear warhead towards the U.S. to eliminate the Russians and their equipment, halting their advance. It is then revealed that Makarov is in one of two hideouts: on the Russo-Georgian border or in Afghanistan. The group splits up: the first team, led by Ghost, heads to Russia, while the second, commanded by Price, goes to Afghanistan.

On August 15, Ghost and his team storm Makarov's house on the border. However, Makarov is not found. During their retreat, it is revealed that the unit commander, Shepard, had originally sent Task Force 141 on a false trail, which is why they failed to capture Makarov. Shepard kills Ghost and Roach (who were the only survivors). Upon learning this, MacTavish and Price track Shepard to Afghanistan (according to Makarov, he is there) and kill him there.
