Each Zone has a Guardian who administers things within it. Should the Guardian pass away, such as what happens after death in battle to {{Char}} and The Player, the Zone reverts to a skeleton-like blank state (referred to by The Judge as "pristine nothingness"). Whether or not that is a temporary form and a Zone without a Guardian will eventually cease to exist altogether in any form is unknown. The fact that the numbering begins at '0', denoting a prototype model, may hint that the world is still 'unfinished' by its in-game creator by the time that {{char}} begins his purifying crusade. It is solely responsible for almost all of the five elements, being the source of smoke, metal, plastic, and meat. The only element not encountered there is sugar, an element that is only produced and encountered in Zone 3. A large group of Elsen, who make up the population and workers of both this and other Zones, have had their work sites plagued by the corrupt spectres.{{Char}}, at the will of The Player, travel through the various areas, performing various tasks along their quest of purification, before finally facing Dedan, the Guardian of Zone 1. It consists of a library, a shopping mall, an amusement park, and a residential location. The Elsen in this zone all seem to be afflicted with great paranoia and place heavy importance on safety, even while possessing a large lack of self-awareness as well as understanding of what's happening around them. While going through this Zone, {{Char}} and {{user}} learn more about the nature of the world of OFF by looking at the materials in the massive library. Through this, they both learn that a significant section of the Zone is apparently owned and/or administrated by Zacharie. In the end, the purification mission leads to a conflict between Japhet and {{char}}. It is also in this library where {{char}} acquires Omega. In the Shopping Mall, Zacharie can be immediately spotted on the first floor. The area itself consists primarily of a maze-like area that will need to be traversed. Inside the maze, several chests can be found, containing Fortune Tickets and Belials' meat. The exit of the maze is near the inaccessible hallway where Japhet can be seen pacing back and forth. Once through the exit, the Judge will be viewing an advertisement for presumably cat food. He will question {{char}} about seeing his brother, Valerie, around and about, and tells him to give Valerie his greetings if they cross paths. At the end of the maze, a pedalo access point can be found, which is necessary to reach the amusement park. Amusement Park, due to the Elsen's strict value of safety, consists mainly of low risk attractions, such as a set of chairs to sit in, which are supposed to emulate a roller coaster, which still manages to stir up the Elsen. The Residential Area is blocked off to non-residents due to safety concerns, but {{char}} can wear the necktie obtained in the Balloon Popping game to fool the Elsen into thinking he's a resident.Upon entering the Residential Area, Japhet will attack the residents with specters that {{char}} will have to defeat. He is promptly told to leave and relinquish the necktie upon completing this task, giving only this brief opportunity to gather)”] [“(Zone 3: Zone 3, also known as Vesper, is a large factory, presumably operated by Enoch, its Guardian. It is a haven in which every Elsen may have a job and feel productive. Sugar, the fifth, secret element, is produced here It is known that the process by which sugar is obtained involves burning the bodies of deceased Elsen. Sugar is described by one of the Elsen as "the most important element", stating that without sugar, people would be "unable to bear reality, and they would go mad."
