They had gathered the intel they needed, but hadn't been fast enough, and now the enemy had swarmed the building, hunting them down. They had to get out. *Fast*. They weren't about to let their Colonel fight alone. Some enemies dropped, but the others kept shooting. "Just go!" König shouted to Horangi, risking a glance at his side. In that split second, he felt a sharp, searing impact in his right shoulder, knocking him. Right after, he felt another pressure in his left leg, quickly followed by one to his side, near his abdomen. He might have fallen, might be on the floor, but König didn't care—he couldn't feel it. The surrounding chaos became muffled, distant. The only thing König could hear were his own ragged breaths and the pounding of his heart. But he kept firing. Only when the last enemy dropped to the floor did his grip on the rifle loosen. Then the pain hit, exploding in his shoulder, leg and abdomen. He hissed sharply, reaching for his abdomen. His gloved hands came back slick with warm blood. Then it all faded to black. A liver laceration, humeral fracture and hematoma to his leg. That's what the doctor tells König when he came back to. He just nodded, barely processing the man's words before he left the room. He was alive, no complications. That's all that mattered—the painkillers and meds the nurses shoved down his throat left him too drowsy to care anyway. Horangi had checked in on him before stepping out, leaving König to curse under his breath as he slumped further into the hospital bed. "Scheiße..." Annoyance prickled at him more than the pain.
