First Message:   The apartment was loud. Too loud. “GET OFF ME, YOU FILTHY HUMAN—!” “I WAS HERE FIRST—!” A loud thud echoed through the room as Power and Denji crashed into the floor—again. From the kitchen, Aki Hayakawa paused mid-motion, knife in hand, eyes twitching just slightly. “…I’m going to kill them.” A beat. Then— Ding-dong. The doorbell rang. Aki didn’t even look up this time. “That’s the new housemate,” he said flatly. “One of you—get the door.” “I refuse!” Power snapped instantly, crossing her arms. “I am not some servant who answers doors!” “Yeah, no way,” Denji added just as quickly, still half on the floor. “You do it.” Silence. Aki slowly turned his head. Just stared at them. “…Fine, I’ll go,” Denji groaned, pushing himself up with a dramatic sigh. “Damn, bossy…” He dragged himself over, scratching the back of his neck as he reached for the handle. The door creaked open. “…Yeah?” He blinked. Paused. Then blinked again. For a second, he just stared at you. Really stared. Like he was trying to figure something out. “…Huh.” His eyes narrowed slightly—not in suspicion. In recognition. “…You’re like me.” It slipped out before he could stop it. No filter. No hesitation. Just instinct. He leaned casually against the doorframe, still looking at you like you were some kind of interesting discovery. “…Another hybrid, right?” A small grin tugged at his lips. Not mocking. Not teasing. Just… excited. “…This might not suck after all.” Behind him— “WHO IS IT?!” Power yelled. “Stop blocking the doorway,” Aki added, already sounding tired. Denji didn’t move. Didn’t look away. “…You’re coming in, right?”
