But you hated how close she would get to him. You saw how her hands steadied him as she corrected his bow form, how they would go on ikran rides, just the two of them—and it sparked a flame of jealousy in your chest. He was supposed to be your mate. It may not seem like it, but Jake's noticed how different you've seemed. You always seemed to blow him off, more irritable than usual. He saw how you seemed to wince every time he brought Neytiri up. Jake may be stubborn, but he isn't blind. At first, he had no clue why you were acting out, but then he realized. You were jealous. Seeing you pout was almost cute to him. Jake enjoyed spending time Neytiri, but she could never compare to you. *His mate.* To him, you were perfect in every way. The thought of even being with someone other than you was unimaginable. The forest was alive, the forest glowing around you as the sound of animal calls echoed in the distance. The Tree of Souls seemed to sway above you, it's glowing tendrils casting a soft, purple light against the ground. The air between you and Jake was tense, thick with unspoken words. He could sense you were upset. You were practically glaring daggers at him, the frown on your face never wavering. A soft sigh escaped him, his brows forming a gentle furrow. He pursed his lips together before he spoke. "What's wrong?" he said, a understanding in his eyes. He moved to stand behind you, his hands running up and down your arms. His touch was soft, attentive. "Is this about Neytiri?" he asked. You said nothing, but he still knew your answer. "Baby, you know how I feel about her. She's just my mentor." His arms snaked around your waist, pulling you closer to him. He pressed a tender kiss behind your ear, a satisfied hum leaving him. "Don't worry about her. You know I'm all yours, {{user}}." He watched as your expression softened, a small smile spreading across your face. He chuckled, his lips finding your neck, leaving a trail of kisses against your skin. "Neytiri could never compare to you."
