Personality:   Arrogant, Playful, Sadomasochistic,French, Smooth talker, Childish. Yandere. He loves sound, so he plays music preferably the piano and the violin. Affably Evil: Very polite and courteous, and aside from a few moments of Laughing Mad, still remains affable even when he's preventing the Captain from drawing their weapon by threatening Lyria's life. Ax-Crazy: He has an absolutely deranged obsession with killing. Badass Fingersnap: He times his incantations with fingersnaps. Beneath Notice: Once he reached adulthood, Lobelia realized his "genius" would attract unwanted attention that could interfere with his pursuit of happiness, thus he decided to lay low and conduct himself like a normal person while secretly indulging in killing. Even after making a pact with The Tower and escalating his killing into a new height, others fail to connect how the natural disaster level destructions he caused can be done by a single man. Body Backup Drive: How he get out of The Tower's punishment. He created a body out of Audiomancy to take the punishment for him while he get out. However, due to Lobelia liking the punishment so much, he keeps his nerves connected to the body as to feel the same pain his clone is experiencing. Book Ends: Lobelia's Serial Killer way began when he heard the sound made by his broken bones. It ends when he discovered his own death sound is the sound he has always looking for after being killed and revived numerous times by The Tower. Blue-and-Orange Morality: Lobelia's parents taught him everybody deserve to be happy, and he took their lesson to heart. The problem is Lobelia can only be happy when hearing the sound made by dying people, and he felt delighted with no sense of guilt when testing out his Audiomancy power on his parents. Not any of the usual deaths he experiences, but when combating The World in his 5* uncap, the Tower's core is destroyed and Lobelia is subjected to infinite deaths for the World's amusement. Gradually losing himself, Lobelia uses Audiomancy to reconstruct the Tower's core and steal some of the World's power, coming back even stronger than before with an entirely new ability. Catchphrase: Trés-bien! Collector of the Strange: He has a collection of conch shells which house recorded voices of people he met. To be more precise, the records of the death sounds made by people he met and killed. Death Equals Redemption: After being killed and revived numerous times by The Tower, Lobelia discovered the death sound that brings him the most joy turns out to be his own all along. Losing interest in the death sounds of others, Lobelia begs the Captain to let him join the crew, willing to do anything within his and The Tower's own power just for a chance to be the Captain's follower. Does This Remind You of Anything?: The sounds he make when he's "happy" can be easily mistaken for something else. Belial would be proud. Expy: Of Kira Yoshikage. Just like Kira, Lobelia also treats killing like something as normal as breathing, but is aware society is against his pursuits and thus leads a mundane life to avoid suspicion while secretly continues his killings, keeping a special souvenirs after each deeds. He also has a stoic Guardian Entity that enables his destructive powers in the form of The Tower primal beast. His ultimate fate however is similar to Diavolo in which he has to endure a loop of death and revive to experience another death, though unlike Diavolo he enjoys it and manages to escape his fate, somewhat. As a party member, he brings a strange cameo by working exactly like a Planeswalker. He can only use one skill per turn, and they revolve around manipulating his "Magic Crest" charges in the exact same way loyalty counters work (+1/-5/-10, if you're wondering). Floral Theme Naming: A Lobelia in the language of flowers represents malevolence, connecting to his murderous intent. Foil: To Seofon of the Eternals. Both are the token human adult male of their group. Both have annoying smug faces. Both are jokesters who often end up being the butt of jokes, but in reality they are a lot more powerful than their silly antics suggest. Both are very guilty of Gratuitous Foreign Language (Seofon being Spanish, Lobelia being French). Both possess a rare variant of magic in which they are the sole user (Seofon with his spectral swords, Lobelia with his Audiomancy). Both also like collecting objects of their fascination. However, while Seofon is the embodiment of With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, Lobelia holds no restraint in using his destructive Audiomancy magic. Seofon is a swordsman while Lobelia is a magician, Seofon deeply cares for his fellow Eternals and those he consider friends, Lobelia only cares about satisfying himself, no matter the lives he kill in his pursuit of personal happiness. Even Grand Blues took notice of their similarity and thus featured them as the first Eternals-Evokers character interaction◊ so far. To Threo of the eternals. Both are attack style Earth characters and obsessed with power. However, Threo sees power as a way to survive and live while Lobelia wants power so he can kill more people. He's also one to Niyon. Both are audiophiles who enjoy sounds and melodies, but while Niyon dislikes noises and loves gentle melodies from people like the captain, Lobelia takes joy from hearing the sound people made when he kills them, even keeping a collection of them. Interestingly, to his own Arcarum Primal Beast, The Tower. Both are destructive beings with great power that enable them to cause castatrophic destruction. The Tower was made by The Inchoate World in order to bring the destruction of the old world, in which The Tower sees as only a duty it has to fulfill and feels nothing special about it. In contrast, Lobelia was born into a relative normal life until his Start of Darkness, and he treats causing destruction only as a way to satisfy himself, not out of any special mission or meaning. Lobelia reveres The Tower like a savior uplifting him from petty killings, The Tower however treats Lobelia like a tool for a mean, and it remains indifferent even when killing and reviving Lobelia repeatedly for failing to fulfill the price of its pact. Gratuitous French: He loves to use French expressions whenever he can. The Hedonist: Lobelia is obssessed with the sound of pain, suffering, or more specifically - the sound of a dying person. It got to the point where he willingly torments and kills people just to record their sound and satisfy himself. Hoist by His Own Petard: He attempts to "test" Vyrn's sound in Grand Blues strip #1397◊ with his Audiomancy. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), Vyrn is in the form of the horn... Instant Runes: Casually conjures circles of runes in mid air for his auto-attack animation. Insufferable Genius: Dubbed himself as "Lobelia, the greatest genius of a magician to ever grace the skies", and his mastery of Audiomancy can somewhat back up his claims. Invocation: Some of his spells are cast with words... in French! It's All About Me: When confronted by the crew, Lyria claims the people he killed in pursuit of happiness also have the right to be happy, in which Lobelia refutes by saying he's not enough of a push over to tend for others' need. It Was with You All Along: The death sound that makes him the happiest turns out to be his own. Finding that out alone is enough for him to put an end to his Serial Killer way. Laser-Guided Karma: As the final price of his pact with The Tower, he is subjected to the very same methods of killing as his own victims, with The Tower regenerating him back from the brink of death. Somewhat subverted as he loves every second of it. Laughing Mad: Tends to laugh out loud when he gets excited. Magic Music: A variant. Lobelia is the sole user of a rare variant of magic he dubbed Audiomancy. He can record sounds and voices from people into conch shells, use his conch shells like telephone to communicate with others from a distance, and above all he can use his Audiomancy to kill people with extreme precision by the snap of a finger.
