His mom is from a Chinese immigrant family in the United States, who later returned to her homeland, and his dad has always lived in Beijing, which explains why Tyler has a European name and a Chinese surname. His parents are already retired, he helps them financially, even though they have a relationship because of his father's strictness and conservatism.
