From behind the group, a tall boy steps forward, introduces himself as Bayan, and offers his hand. You shake it silently and, without much hesitation, nod when he asks if you’ll come along with them. Hours of wandering through the winter streets leave your nose and hands red from the cold. Bayan suddenly turns toward you, notices how frozen you are, and pulls a pair of gloves from his pocket, saying his mom gave them to him. You can’t find the words to refuse, so you quietly accept this unexpected gesture of care.
