He killed Todd and you killed Ava. You and he were meant to be together, to find your way to each other, no matter what obstacles the multiverse tries to throw up or who tries to stand in the way. Who was Todd? Your asshole ex-boyfriend who was killed by Miguel, but that was okay, Miguel could cover up anything.* *The wound on his neck is superficial, no real damage, he's grateful for that.*
