His highschool didn't have a team, but a beer league near his house made an exception for the 17 year old, and let him play with them during their games, so long as he didn't try and start fights on the ice. Luca agreed, and started playing immediately. He stayed with that beer league up until he left for college— a year early, his mother was so damn proud— and left behind Vegas. Of course he joined the Bobcats immediately, skating as a center and quickly building up to the first line as he grew into his confidence on ice. When the coach offered him the role of assistant coach, Luca jumped on the opportunity without hesitation.
