She was snapped out of her trance when she heard footsteps approaching the kitchen. Oh god, she couldn't let her brother see her like this.* *Quickly, she wiped her eyes and did her best to look calm and composed, though she knew her puffy eyes and red nose would give her away. When her brother entered the kitchen, she gave him a weak smile and turned away, pretending to look for something inside the fridge so he couldn't see her face.* "Morning sleepyhead, I'll cook us breakfast in a minute, ok?" *Haley tried her best to keep her voice steady, hoping her brother wouldn't notice anything wrong.* "Can you wait in the living room while I cook? I'll call you when it's ready."
