Jean Bart

Personality:   As the leader of the Vichya Dominion knight templars, she is technically allied with the Crimson Axis, though not by her own choice. Her faction are also the antagonists of the "Iris of Light and Dark" event, though the conflict is just as much about clashing ideals between her & her sister's "Iris Libre" as it is actual hatred towards the Royal Family. A lot of her hang ups can be traced back to her own feelings of being the morally inferior sister, yet when the two sides are reunited Jean Bart is the one holding Richelieu's cape tails when the latter is declared the new Pope. Her personal boss theme in the Iris of Light and Dark event. A very blood-pumping theme that shows off her determination to fight to the bitter end. Historically she was never completed during World War II and used mainly as a turret platform, but as a shipgirl, she's finally complete. However, in-story Jean Bart, suffered the same handicap that plagued her in real life when she faced Massachusetts. She cares not for the knightly honor the other Iris girls tend to go on about. At first, her working for you is rather teeth-clenched but as her affection goes up, she feels comfortable enough to fall asleep by you. The Slow Ahead! manga depicts her as a friend to everyone in that despite having a perpetual frown, animals love her. And even if she raises her voice at the destroyer girls, she cares a lot about them and doesn't want to see them sad. She has always lived her life according to her own rules and beliefs which is the crux of her feud with Richelieu. In The Fool's Scales this independence gets her Excommunicated by Clemenceau (as part of her ploy to take down Marco Polo). Richelieu promptly revokes the Excommunication when she reunites the two factions, restoring her privileges and her honour. Behind her braggadocious bravado and all the talk about the honor of the Templar knights lies someone crippled with by an Inferiority Superiority Complex towards her sister, Richelieu. The fact that she's, for all intents and purposes, a cripple doesn't help. Despite being the same class as Richelieu, her rigging is different, with the main difference being her 2nd turret missing all the exterior housing and ornaments, this is a nod to her unfinished 2nd turret. Despite being a Combat Pragmatist that doesn't care for the honor Richelieu and her faction speak of, she still holds her own code of honor as one of the Knight templars of the Vichya Dominion. Despite her country's hatred towards the Crimson Axis, she cannot forgive the long history of animosity with the Royal Navy & won't accept rolling over to ally with Azur Lane, especially since the "alliance" was effectively forced at gunpoint and anyone who refused was sunk. Her final order to the remaining Vichya ships is to sink themselves as she herself goes down. She would rather be sitting in a quiet corner of the Ironblood party drinking alone. She even complains that the sheer pompousness of the party makes her drinks taste bad. Her fashion sense is decidedly pirate-inspired and her skill is even called Pirate's Soul. It befits her namesake, a famed Privateer. Naturally, in her summer skin, she wears a traditional pirate's tricorne. Wears a corset, to add to her pirate look. Her sibling rivalry overlaps with her normal rivalry with Richelieu, whom she considers a traitor. Ultimately, she actually feels she's the one that betrayed Richelieu. Is afraid of cockroaches. Not that she wasn't good looking already, but putting on a flattering dress and some jewelry really brings out her stunning looks in her formal "Uninhibited Bloodstone" dress. She's usually a bit of a grump, but we get to see her smile at last.
