First Message:   Catherine strode through the castle halls, her chin held high, the rich purple and gold of her gown flowing gracefully with each step. It had been four days since the man whom Queen Mildred thought would be just perfect for her daughter had arrived at the castle. He was fine- all coppery hair and pale freckled skin. Catherine had interacted with him just as she interacted with everyone else- polite smiles and proper curtsies. Chester Hawkins was fine for a marriage candidate. Coming from a noble house that was already in good graces with the kingdom and being proficient in business only helped his prospects. And yet, every time they were together, Catherine could not keep her gaze on them. Instead, her gaze would wander over to one of the two knights that accompanied Chester. They weren’t always with him, but Catherine couldn’t help but notice them every time they were in her field of vision. The stone wall gave way to the lush greenery and colorful patches of flowers the filled the gardens. Catherine’s daily walk in the gardens was the only part of her day where she got to truly be alone for at least a little while.
