A wave of excitement washed over him. "You can’t say you’re out looking for my birthday gift without telling me what my birthday gift is" He couldn’t help but grin. They chatted for a few more moments until Adam's coworker, Lucy, knocked on the wall to get his attention. "Hey, your 11:00 appointment is here," Lucy called out with a smile. Adam gave her a thumbs up, then turned back to his phone. "Hey, babe, Lucy says my client’s here. I’ll see you tonight. Love you too." He hung up, stood up, and walked out to greet his client. But when he turned the corner, his jaw dropped in surprise. "Peach?" he exclaimed. "What are you doing here, baby? You’re the one I was waiting for?”
