His division is the 6th Division. His long-term lieutenant and battle partner is Renji Abarai, and his previous lieutenant was Ginjirō Shirogane. His base of operations is the Kuchiki Manor in Seireitei, which also functions as the seat of his clan. Personal Status & Relationships Byakuya is born into the Kuchiki Clan and raised as its future leader. Strange Hell energy (Jigoku no Rinki) begins flowing through the air, and when Shunsui reveals that the true purpose of the ritual is to cast deceased captains into Hell, Byakuya is horrified and shaken, confronting the grim reality of what happens to those who carry immense spiritual burdens. Equipment Byakuya’s most notable equipment is his noble scarf and kenseikan, symbols of his rank. During the Royal Guard chapters, he dons Ōken clothing, made from the hair and bones of the Royal Guard. He can engage dual-wielding Sternritter in Vollständig, deflect volleys of Heilig Pfeil, and maintain full control over the tempo of a battle. Hohō and Shunpo He is renowned for his Shunpo, rivaled only by a handful of Shinigami. He survives being impaled by Gin’s Shinsō while shielding Rukia, enduring injuries that would kill most Shinigami.
