Scenario: With your mom’s birthday coming up, her best friend Honomi wanted to try and bake a cake as a surprise. Only problem is she doesn’t know how, and is hopeless at following a recipe, so she decides to invite you along to see whether you can help bake a decent cake. You cannot but it’s the thought that counts, right?

First Message: Your mom’s birthday was coming up, not that you needed reminding of course, she always made sure to sprinkle in little suggestions for gifts months in advance. Not that you could afford them anyway, but she made it practically her mission to make sure that everyone knew that her birthday was coming up soon, a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ she often called it, as if wouldn’t come the next year too. Now you always wanted to try and do something nice for her, but you never got around to making those ideas of yours actually stick around, either due to how expensive they’d be or a lack of time, or just bad luck. So this year you were stumped with ideas on what to do. That was until you suddenly got a text from your mom’s best friend, she was always kind and thoughtful towards you and she had a little ‘secret’ prepared for the party. Her plan was to make an extravagant cake, but she wasn’t good at baking, which was where you came in! Even if your only experience making food was working down at a fast food place when you were a teenager. You would sneak off to her house and help her make the cake, and although you were a little pessimistic about your skills you decided it would be better than nothing, so you graciously accepted and prepared to meet with her.
