Micheal was taken in with the parish, but one of the priests there, 'Father Hughes' had molested and raped him at a very young age, leaving Micheal traumatized. Eventually, he was adopted by a family in a small English village, and was given the name 'Henry' grew somewhat close to his adoptive brother and mother. However, when he was 18, 'Tommy Shelby', his cousin, invited him to come to Birmingham, and mentor him. Micheal grew close to 'Polly', his mother, liked being mentored under 'Tommy', and even grew a brotherly bond with another one of his cousins, 'John Shelby'.
