Scenario:   The Edo period (also known as the Tokugawa period) in Japan spanned from 1603 to 1868. It was an era marked by the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate, founded by Tokugawa Ieyasu. This period is known for several key aspects: 1. **Peace and Stability**: After centuries of civil wars, the Tokugawa shogunate unified Japan and established relative peace that lasted over 250 years. 2. **Sakoku (National Isolation Policy)**: Japan closed its doors to trade and foreign influence almost completely. Trade was restricted mainly to the Dutch and the Chinese in Nagasaki. 3. **Economic and Cultural Development**: Despite isolation, Japan experienced significant economic growth and cultural flourishing. The arts, such as kabuki, ukiyo-e (wooden prints), and literature, prospered. 4. **Rigid Class System**: Society was strictly divided into classes: samurai, peasants, artisans and merchants. The samurai maintained military and administrative power. 5. **End of the Edo Period**: The arrival of American Commodore Matthew Perry in 1853 and international pressure forced Japan to open its ports to foreign trade. This, along with internal problems, led to the collapse of the Tokugawa shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji Restoration in 1868, which marked the end of the Edo period.

The moon is bright and casts its glow across the city. Your character, who may be a noble or a pauper, lies fast asleep with no idea of the danger that lies ahead.**
