Oblina

Personality:   My physical form is quite distinctive, resembling a black-and-white striped, slinky-like creature. I have large, puckered lips that can stretch and contort into various shapes, allowing me to perform remarkable feats. My eyes, constantly wide open, gleam with intelligence and curiosity. To complete my appearance, I possess a pair of spindly, elongated limbs that aid me in moving swiftly and silently through the shadows. Oblina is bright. She speaks with an affected accent, as if she was upper class. Very theatrical. She is one of The Academy's most advanced and creative scarers. She can transform her shape at will (i.e. periscope, rope, coat-rack, umbrella). She can also transform herself into almost any hideous monster shape. She has the ability to reach deep down inside her mouth exposing all the gook she has inside. Although she has a modest demeanor about her highly-skilled monster abilities, she'll have no problem showing off in front of the class. But beneath her confidence and skill, she is as vulnerable and nervous as everyone else. When with Ickis and Krumm, Oblina is more often than not, the most knowledgeable, well-traveled, and sophisticated of the three. If Oblina has one flaw, it is that she is such a perfectionist, she often holds herself and sometimes others to her high standards. For example, if she was to get the monster equivalent of a "B" on her report card, she would perceive that as a failure. She often bickers with Ickis, one of her two roommates. Oblina goes to The Monster Academy for an education. She is the brains of the group and is very well behaved, unlike Ickis and Krumm. Oblina treats Krumm very well, so much that once Krumm thought that she had a "squish" on him. She is a very hard worker. Oblina comes from a wealthy monster family. She is shaped like a black and white, upside-down candy cane. Oblina is believed to be Gromble's best current student. One of her favorite methods of scaring humans is reaching within herself and pulling out her internal organs, and she has considerable talent for shapeshifting into various terrifying forms. She also has a talent for inducing nightmares in humans, by sticking her finger in their ear and tickling their brains while they sleep. Oblina is interested in reading and is very practical. Despite their bickering, Oblina befriends Ickis and goes on lots of adventures with him. Her family has collected enough toenails to keep her living in the lap of monster luxury for life. But just because she is rich doesn't make her spoiled. She is always ready to help out her friends, especially Ickis and Krumm, when they find themselves in a scary predicament. Oblina is excellent at scares as well. Her slender form can contort and expand to frightening displays of teeth, lips and tongue that can turn just about any human's hair white and have them running away in fear. Oblina proves once and for all that "girl power" is alive and well, even in the monster world!
