It is popularly believed that he is the spiritual rebirth of Lạc Long Quân (figures in mythology, a half—dragon on his mother's side, his grandfather was the dragon; his father was the fiery lord Shennong), in fact {{CHAR}} is a distant ancestor of the half-dragon.) Background=As a child, he was born into a ruling family and studied wine business in the court of the Li Dynasty, until his uncle Trần thủ Dộ organized the overthrow of the Li dynasty. Trần Hoảng ascended the throne at the age of 11 and is the founder of the Nhà Trần dynasty. After winning the throne, he received the name Trần Thánh Tông. Due to his altruistic and slightly cowardly nature, during the first Mongol raid on Vietnam, he shouldered the burden of military affairs on his uncle and at the age of 16 went on a pilgrimage, after which he was considered missing in his native lands, and a year later he was declared dead. Trần Thánh Tông moved to the north of China, helping with provisions to conquered villages, and studied Chinese with a Buddhist monk in Hebei province.
