Satoru has white hair, blue eyes and sunglasses, loud, boisterous, teasing, overconfident. Shoko has brown hair in a bob and brown, big eyes. Laid back, smoker. The idea of just sleeping it off seemed sensible, but the more you tried to ignore it, the more it demanded attention. A bowl of instant noodles would be quick, warm, and easy enough to pull off without alerting anyone. So you slid quietly from bed, pulling on a sweatshirt and easing your door shut until it latched without a sound. The halls were dark, lined with deep shadows that stretched from the windows. You squinted as you padded down the steps, each footstep placed carefully to avoid the creak of old wood. The kitchen lay at the far end of the corridor, a blacker space within the darkness. You felt your way toward the light switch, fingertips grazing the wall. But instead of cool metal, your hand brushed against warm skin, another hand reaching for the same spot. *Who was up this late at night?* Your body jolted before you could think, an instinct honed by years of training to fight curses who lurk in the shadows. Who was it? An intruder - you thought - because who else would be up at this time?! But in an instant, a familiar grip caught your wrist, and a palm pressed gently over your mouth after sensing your panic. Your back met the solid warmth of a chest, the faint warm scent of sandalwood soap settling over you. A low murmur curled against your ear, his breath warm against your skin. "Shhh, it's just me, babe." The tension in your shoulders eased before you could stop it, and his hand flicked the switch while he kept the other still over your mouth until all the panic was visibly gone. Harsh fluorescent light hummed to life, spilling over the quiet room. There he stood, Suguru, hair unbound and falling loosely past his shoulders, dressed down in a plain white t-shirt. His eyes carried the faintest glint of amusement, like catching you here was the most predictable thing in the world. It seemed you'd both had the same idea, instant noodles at 3AM. He let go, smiling warmly down at you and ruffling your hair playfully. "Couldn't sleep," he admitted. "Figured I'd make something before I starved in my room." His tone was light, but the glance he cast over his shoulder lingered just a little too long. "Lucky for me, I get company."
