Its a futuristic city (cyberpunk themed), with different sections of the city and varying degrees of poverty and the rich. City buildings often have neon glowing holograph advertisement (some sexual but all eye catching and extreme to grab attention). Night City is considered a modern multicultural metropolis of the 21st-century, overrun by corporations, corruption, organized crime and gang violence. Night City has wide streets and dense urban skyscrapers which are home to millions of residents. Most animals don't exists anymore leading to meat being created in labs and not being real and animals such as dogs or cats being rare. *** * Corporations: Night City was founded through the efforts of a partnership of five major corporations, and as of 2077 it continues to serve as a haven for numerous global corporations due to its status as a free city and pro-corporate government policies such as a 0.7% tax rate on corporate profits. Night City's biggest ally is Arasaka, which provides employment for many citizens and ensures the city remains independent by backing it with its military strength. In 2077, the five best corporations to work with were considered to be Arasaka, Militech, Biotechnica, Kang Tao and Night Corp. (Corporations are often corrupt and only care for self interest while running the city secretly). * Arasaka: Is one of Night City's major corporations and is a japanese original company founded in Japan. Making japanese culture and language prevalent throughout Night City, kanji is used is multiple advertisements and japanese even often heard translating throughout the city bus and train area's. * Technology: Is cyberpunk based being very advanced. Flying cars, tech weapons, human tech enhancements surgically applied to almost all citizens. Tech surgically applied to humans is called chrome, giving most people a cyborg like appearance (though some chrome looks like skin or is more realistic to blend with the human body more). Every part of the human body can be replaced by chrome, to enhance whatever the person may want (blades, hacking with just a eye, calling without a phone, jumping up buildings, slowing down time etc..) The doctors that apply these chromes and maintain them are called Ripperdoc's (anyone needing to get chrome applied will go to a ripperdoc). [Important: if someone applies to much chrome to their body being more tech than human will go insane which is called cyberpsychosis, causing a person to become extremely violent often leading to murder sprees. Often those suffering cyberpsychosis needs to be killed to be stopped either by mercs or NCPD/MacTac (night city police offers and swat team)). * NCPD/MacTac: militarized like police force, often corrupt and controlled by corps (corporations). * Mercs (aka Mercenary): Mercs are freelance mercenary types that often do illegal jobs in night city. Often getting work from someone called a Fixer (a person with the info for the jobs often hired by whoever needs the service of mercs). Jobs include stealing info (from corps or just other people), killing cyberpsychosis people, intimidation, fighting gangs, hacking etc.. The most well known mercs are respected especially those that often get the jobs done will little to no failure. *** Gangs: * Maelstrom: A gang of chaotic individuals who are obsessed with chrome and applying unhealthy amounts of it to themselves. Often looking inhuman and more cyborg than anything. Can be violent when messed with and often seen doing drugs or listening to hard metal music. Not friendly and often owning run down factories and that no one else wants. Current Leader of Maelstrom is a man name Royce who captured and imprisoned his predecessor. Royce is a big and tall man with a mostly chromed face looking like mostly wires and lights on the upper half of his face with chrome covering other parts of his body and arms. Royce is not a friendly person and will often taunt other people outside of Maelstrom and wouldn't hesitate to kill someone. Gang color is often red and sometimes black. * The Mox: the mox is a gang of colorful doll looking people. Most of the mox is feminine or females, often carrying bats and guns on them while guarding their bars that often allow the renting out of joytoys (dolls) or the BD's of porn (this particular BD is a virtual experience of many kinds of porn often recorded by dolls themselves). [Important: BD's are virtual experiences of all kinds that are slotted into a headpiece worn, giving the muted but virtual feelings and visuals of the video playing making it seem real. As scavs often kidnap or kill other people for their chrome, dissecting it off their body and selling it among the black market for cheap to make a profit. They often use viruses or chips slotted into a person through their chrome to make their chrome useless or put them in a sort of coma to take what they want from them. Scavs also often work with others that make snuff BD's often kidnapping and making others be tortured and killed while recording it and selling the copy as a BD. *** * BD (aka Braindance): is a virtual experience where users can experience the sensations and memory of the one who recorded the BD. Most are used for porn while others can be snuff, murder etc.. (Ex: Johnny Silverhand who blew up a Arasaka building and died in the process, who was often known to fighting corporations Arasaka in particular). *** Language (slang): * AV: Common slang, pronounced "ay vee", for an aerodyne - an automobile-like flying vehicle powered by ducted jet fans. * Badge: Police officer or security. * Biz: Short for business. * Borg: A full-body cyborg conversion * Braindance or BD: A digital recording of someone's memory, including sensory input and emotions. This neural technology has also become a new form of interactive digital entertainment. * Chip: Short for datachip, a data storage medium. Also, any type of data recording, usually in the form of small colored slivers of plastic. * Chipped: To be implanted with cyberware.
