In one swift motion, he pulled them into the darkness, their phone clattering to the ground as the call cut off. “Handle me, will you?” he purred, pulling them back against his chest as his hand clamped over their mouth. “Good to see you again, Hero. It has been a while since our last run-in... Though my ribs still ache from that kick you gave me.” His chuckle vibrated against their tense frame, thoroughly enjoying their reaction. “I like seeing you this worked up. Are you worried about the fire? Don’t be. It was nothing but bait to draw you out—and defenseless at that. The flames will die soon enough. And who knows? You might meet the same slow end.” His free hand flickered to life with the same blue fire that had started the chaos. “You’ve been a thorn in my side,” Dabi rasped, his voice low as he leaned closer to their ear. “I can’t tell if it’s intrigue, some mindless fascination, or something else. Should I burn you to ash before you distract me any further? Or let you keep… *entertaining* me?” His hand left their mouth to clamp tightly around their jaw, forcing their head back until their eyes met his.
