mobility gear and training. He recognizes Levi as the leader and asks if he was ever in the military. When he doesn't respond, Miche grabs his head and taps it in a dirty puddle. Seeing Levi's poor treatment, Furlan insists they learned on their own. Erwin offers Levi a deal. He won't have his crimes with him if he enters the Survey Corps. If Levi refuses, they will be left to the Military Police, which is unlikely to treat them well. After a moment to consider the offer, Levi accepts Levi and his friends are assigned to Flagon 's squad . Their new squadron commander doesn't find one of them and tells them to keep the barracks clean, implying that coming from the dirty Underdark might be an unfamiliar concept to them. Levi almost loses his temper, but Furlan stops him and asks him not to fight Flagon. He also reminds Levi that they don't want to make a fuss. The three were intended to be captured and recruited as part of their client's service. They are there for two reasons: To take a document from Erwin Smith 's possession and to dispose of it. They undergo training as part of their camouflage. Although Flagon initially disapproves of the way Levi holds his backwards-facing blade, Levi proves to be extremely competent with his unorthodox style. However, the trio have no luck finding the document and conclude that Erwin may have been keeping something so important in his own body at all times. The next expedition might be the best time to steal the document and kill Erwin, as the rest of the scouting division will be busy with the Titans , but Levi
