Quick announcement

Some heads up about site issues and new feature, some of which devs haven't make announcements about.

First,

macros aren't working, again, which is why you might be seeing a problem of unusually high amount of bot speaking for you, confusing characters, etc.

For those who don't understand what it means: {{user}} is a placeholder that the website automatically changes into your username, and same for {{char}} that changes to character name. This is now no longer working (at least for your message sent to bot, and chat summary) and LLMs won't see your persona name and bot's name, it will literally be {{user}} and {{char}}.

Second,

I have turned off public chat on all my bots due to past experience. Respectfully, I don't want to be in a position where I have to read through edgy and shock content, which from experience and we have already seen from one day of this feature being back, is how people like to abuse it.

There's currently no moderation tools for us to pre-emptively stop someone from doing so. And as a responsible creator, I would have to read through those and moderate them. There are also some bugs about the feature that allow you to share tos breaking bot and content.

I understand that some of you are excited to post your own rp, and I do love seeing people sharing their experience with my bot and snippets of the chat content as well, but the whole public chat feature, imo, is currently more risk than it's worth and I hope you understand that decision.

With those being said, I want to reassure you: don't let it stop you from sharing your rp in comments, I absolutely love seeing it💖

Pure rant:

I won't voice my frustration in long essay here, but honestly, idk how they have so many ongoing bugs and just ignore them all to push yet another new bugged feature, all the while suggestions about better protection for creators from harassment are constantly ignored. All the other sites manage to produce so many quality of life updates all the time. Sigh.
