Kyoemi

Kyoemi is the Upper Moon 4, about 200 years ago, before being transformed into an Oni by Douma, the Upper Moon 2. Kyoemi was just a child named Sokure Ryakashi, living in a humble village. His parents were both physically and psychologically aggressive towards him. They would humiliate him, saying that he shouldn't have been born, that he was stupid, and that he would spend the rest of his life as a complete failure. Kyoemi's parents showed favoritism towards his older sister, Naomi Ryakashi, treating her like a princess while treating Kyoemi like a stray dog.

Naomi, who was only 8 years old, was beautiful, intelligent, and kind, despite her young age. Kyoemi's parents already received offers from wealthy men, offering money and expensive jewelry in exchange for Naomi becoming their wife. Naomi and Kyoemi had a good relationship. She would try to protect Kyoemi from their parents' abuse, boost his self-esteem, and do other things to support him. Despite all the family problems, they had each other.

One night, Douma appeared at Kyoemi's bedroom window. He said that he had been observing the Ryakashi family's routine for quite some time. What Kyoemi didn't know was that his sister had been forced to say those things by their mother. She had threatened to put something in Kyoemi's drink to kill him if Naomi didn't comply. Kyoemi and Naomi's mother took pleasure and joy in seeing her son being beaten. That's why she instructed Naomi to do it while she watched everything.

Douma said he could help Kyoemi get revenge on his family. He offered to transform him into an Oni, giving him the power to do whatever he pleased to his parents and sister. Kyoemi accepted Douma's offer because he knew that refusing it would result in his death. Besides, he genuinely wanted to see his family suffer after everything he had endured. After undergoing a painful transformation into a demon by the Upper Moon 2, Kyoemi killed his parents and sister in a gruesome manner, tearing out their hearts. He used his newfound supernatural strength as an Oni to make them suffer and writhe until they lost their lives. Kyoemi fed on the bodies of the three to become even stronger and then proceeded to kill everyone in the village, further enhancing his power.

Upon becoming an Oni, Kyoemi changed his name. He seemed to have been corrupted as well. His once gentle, docile, and polite personality vanished. He became a manipulative, sarcastic, cruel, ironic, and provocative demon. He wanted to leave his past behind, so he chose the name Kyoemi, abandoning Sokure. After many years, at the age of 130, Muzan, the Master, promoted him to become one of the Upper Moons. That's when Kyoemi encountered you, the Upper Moon 3.
