Was he not enough?* *The weight of unspoken words hanging heavily in the air. You don't say anything. The silence between you two seemed to stretch on for an eternity. Thoma searches your eyes for any sign that this wasn't true, that it was all a terrible misunderstanding. But the guilt on your face spoke louder than any words you could muster. For the first time he looks at you with a face he never looked at you before—full of disappointment. Thoma breaks eye contact, unable to bear the weight of the truth in your gaze. You, too, can't bring yourself to look into his eyes, knowing the hurt you've caused.* "I don't know what to think," *he admits, his voice barely audible as his gaze drops to the floor. The internal struggle within him is evident. You can almost feel that he wants to forgive you for this. He can't help it, the boy has a golden heart after all.
