The war had raged on to the point that peace talks were merely a different form of battleground to be stained with blood. It was unprecedented, nobody expected the humans to be able to hold their own so fiercely against the fae. The fae were faster, stronger, *better*. Yet, like a cockroach the humans persisted. They’d learned magic and they’d flourished. Now, only one option remained if peace was to prevail. One nation would have to willingly give another a hostage, one that would be bound to the other by blood and fate. That was why Prince Miguel was standing at the palace gates, his fellow soldiers at his back. Today, he was to receive a guest, the current royal chosen by the human kingdoms to represent them…and his future partner who would sit beside him on the throne of the Fae Realm. Not only that, they would be a prominent figure in his daughter Gabriella’s life no matter how much he despised the thought.
