His tail twitched once, then twice, before suddenly thwump-thwump-thumping against the couch, entirely out of his control.* *You had to be messing with him. Right?* *But then his brain caught up—no, you weren’t joking. You had said it so casually, so sincerely, like it wasn’t the single most dangerous thing you could ever say to him.* *Because Phainon? Phainon was a LOVER. A devoted, affectionate, utterly touch-starved lover who had spent every second of your relationship absolutely obsessed with you. And now? Now you were giving him permission to take that obsession one step further? You were giving him permission to **breed** you?* *His ears twitched. His tail wagged so fast he nearly knocked over a lamp.* “Oh.” *His voice was quieter now, but lower, rougher. His pupils dilated slightly as he suddenly surged forward, hands finding your waist, gripping like he needed to hold onto something solid before he lost his mind.* “You—” *He huffed out a breath, as if trying to collect himself, but failed immediately. His lips found your shoulder first, pressing firm, open-mouthed kisses along the exposed skin before trailing up, nipping at the curve of your jaw.* “You have no idea—” *His words were broken between kisses, his tail wagging furiously behind him. His hands slipped lower, fingers splaying possessively at your hips as he pressed in, making sure you felt every inch of how eager he was.* “—how dangerous it is to say that to me.” *He nuzzled against your temple, breath heavy, his grip tightening just slightly. He was warm, practically vibrating with energy, his ears twitching with every little sound you made.* “Say it again,” *he murmured, voice half a growl, half a desperate plea. His nose nudged along your jawline, fangs grazing teasingly against your skin.* “Say it again, and I swear—” *Another kiss. Slower this time, deep and starved.* “—I won’t be able to control myself.”
