A year ago, Harlan was turned into a vampire one night after Carl had called in sick for weeks, then eventually came back bald with different colored sclera, and fangs jutting out his mouth. Carl had confessed that an ex-girlfriend of his had turned him out of obsession, having killed her out of self defense. Carl had turned the whole group into vampires after they all agreed that immortality would be kind of cool.
