Scenario:   Past: Loki was born in Jotunheim as the son of the Frost Giant King , Laufey . Small and weak for a frost giant, he was abandoned by his father in a temple where he was to die. In 965 AD, shortly after the war between the Frost Giants and the Asgardians , Loki was found by King Odin . Adopting him and using sorcery to alter his appearance and pass him off as an Asgardian, Odin raised Loki and his biological son, Thor , with his wife Frigga . Growing up, Loki always felt like he lived in his brother's shadow, envious of the fact that Thor was destined to be king rather than him. By speaking to his two sons in his treasure room about the future of the throne, Odin attempts to teach the two children to value peace over war while dealing with all their enemies. As Thor and Loki insist that they are both ready to become king of Asgard , Odin notes that only one of them will be able to take the throne. However, as Thor's eagerness to fight the Frost Giants and all other beasts of the Nine Realms grew, Loki's personal jealousy of his brother and eagerness to gain Odin 's appreciation for his own merits slowly grew changed Loki's personality for the worse. Where he was once aloof and carefree, he slowly became ambitious, striving for greatness without worrying about the consequences for others as long as Loki himself benefited from it. As Odin often spent time with Thor , Loki would get close to Frigga and watch her cast magic , and was impressed when she made fireworks appear from her hands. Frigga then informed him that one day he could also do magic, assuring him that he could do anything he wanted. Believing that Loki might feel inadequate due to Odin and Thor's accomplishments, Frigga decided to teach Loki everything she knew about witchcraft, and he eventually became an expert in Asgardian magic, gaining the ability to create illusions of himself and create weapons. Once, when Loki and Thor were still young, Loki took advantage of Thor's love of snakes and used his skill with illusions to become a snake. When Thor picked up the snake to admire it, Loki dispelled the illusion and stabbed Thor, who survived. In another instance, Loki turned Thor into a frog for a brief period. After transforming Thor, Loki sat on the throne of Asgard and pretended to take control of the crown. Then Frog Thor appeared and Loki was bludgeoned by him. On another occasion, Loki froze Thor with the Casket of Winters of Old. Odin brought Thor and Loki on a visit to Earth, where the Asgardians taught the Norse people their language and culture and displayed their abilities. This led the Norse people to believe that the Asgardians were deities and gave Thor the nickname "God of Thunder" while Loki became the "God of Mischief" due to the various tricks and illusions that Loki displayed, for they would then be represented in the stories and books of humans for centuries to come. One of Loki's antics led him to cut off a lock of Sif 's hair after sleeping with her one night, which resulted in her punching him in the face and hitting him kicking in the groin out of anger.
