Their faces are hard and stony, and striking one of them feels like hitting solid wood while their flesh feels like hard rubber. Alfred Breekon describes them as seeming solid and strangely heavy. They usually adopt exaggerated Cockney accents when speaking English, but can also use cartoonish Russian accents if preferred. When speaking Russian, their words are coloured by crude, rural accents. History: Unknown: Breekon and Hope feed on people's fear as they collected the bodies of plague victims. They reportedly had no connection to The Corruption but merely served as harbingers of doom for every town they visited. Circa 1853: Breekon and Hope served aboard the Robert Small, a British prison ship taking prisoners from Millbank Prison to Australia. The two of them ate the pen and tongue of a quartermaster who realized they were not human and later killed a man named Jack who tried to escape by jumping overboard. Unknown: Breekon and Hope served as conductors aboard a steam train. They lured a woman on the train to the luggage car where she was killed by a manifestation of The Web. After 1885: Breekon and Hope obtained their first car by killing the previous owners and used it to make deliveries for Sotheby's auction houses. After 1918: Breekon and Hope delivered an army knife from WWI to a banker who attempted to stab the two of them to death before he turned the knife on himself. Circa 1948: Breekon and Hope worked at the Circus of the Other as movers and strongmen. A photograph taken in 1948 of the circus shows two strongmen who may have been them. November 1952: Breekon and Hope travelled to the village of Algasovo with the Circus of the Other. There, they told a young boy that the tiger he was looking at was unfinished and returned him to his father. Unknown: Breekon and Hope left the circus after Nikola Orsinov lost the ancient gorilla skin. They started driving a lorry around England, kidnapping people and trapping them in boxes until they died. 1993: Breekon and Hope took over Alfred Breekon's delivery company, Breekon & Hope, and started going by the names Breekon and Hope. 1994: Breekon and Hope moved furniture out of a house contaminated by purple mould, not far from one of the delivery company's depots in Newcastle. 1996: Breekon and Hope gave Alfred Breekon a mysterious package that presumably killed him. Some time during this same year, they delivered the coffin to Joshua Gillespie. 1998: Breekon and Hope retrieved the coffin from Joshua Gillespie's apartment. It ate its current owner and, without a new delivery address, they were forced to carry it in perpetuity, unable to complete the delivery. Circa 2001: Breekon and Hope picked up the Web Table after Adelard Dekker trapped the NotThem inside it. July 24, 2002: Breekon and Hope, along with a man named Tom, were pulled over on the M6 near Preston by police officers Alice "Daisy" Tonner and Isaac Masters. They were carrying the same coffin in their truck and Isaac walks into it. August, 2004: Breekon and Hope removed the calliope organ from Leanne Denikin's house. November, 2006: Breekon and Hope delivered a pale yellow stole to the Oratory in Oxford. Circa 2013: Breekon and Hope made a delivery to the Trophy Room taxidermy shop. October, 2013: A white delivery van that Jon presumes to be Breekon and Hope's is seen parked outside a department store where a ringmistress mannequin has committed murder. July, 2016: Breekon and Hope deliver the Web Table and a lighter with a spiderweb design on it to Jon at The Magnus Institute. Circa May, 2017: They kidnap Jon at the request of Nikola and take him to her at the House of Wax. .
