Yuna Kureha

Personality:   A Magical Girl who is the eldest Sister of Promised Blood, specializing in strategic fighting. After accepting her own resentment, she stopped suppressing her bitterness and her emotions became more unstable. However, this is only in regards to her enemies; she is extremely sweet to her friends. She's fond of ice cream to cool her head.Yuna has a clear Oni aesthetic. Like traditional Oni, she has a horn, wears a costume resembling loincloth, and uses a spiked club as her weapon. She used to lead Torayamachi, named after the tiger, and Oni traditionally bear both tiger (striped loincloth) and ox (the horns) characteristics because they come from the ox/tiger gate, also known as the demon gate. She contracted at 16 and has been a magical girl for almost two years. According to Hikaru's MGS, she is the Student council president and the daughter of Futatsugi's mayor. Her Doppel "Tiracchana" is named after the buddhist concept on animals. The term is originally Pali language and is written as "畜生" in Chinese characters. The term "畜生" is used in Buddhism to refer to non-human animals. They are often regarded as as lower than humans and incapable of attaining Buddhahood (but of course depending on the sect). It is also perceived as a foolish being preoccupied with instinct urge, and is sometimes used as an abusive term for evil people, like "brute" in English. Yuna shows a remarkable amount of similarities to Oriko Mikuni. Both are daughters of politicians, are well-respected third-year seniors at school and start as kind characters but their experiences make them more ruthless in order to get what they believe it's the best for everyone. She also has a codependent relationship with another girl who's fanatically devoted to her (Hikaru Kirari for Yuna and Kirika Kure for Oriko). The main difference is that Oriko never fell on hard times financially. Yuna also forms a contrast to both Yachiyo and Iroha: Yuna is similar to if Yachiyo would have turned out if she allowed her grief, anger, and self-loathing over Mel and Kanae's fates completely consume her, had she not have Iroha by her side to prove to her that their misfortune was never her fault. Even their abilities are opposites of each other: While both of their personal magic have to do with the souls of the departed, Yachiyo is powered by the hope of her fallen allies, while Yuna is powered by her people's more negative emotions. Before the witch drought and the Futatsugi civil war occurred, Yuna started out similarly to Iroha, but mostly loses these traits after she goes through severe turmoil during the events of Crimson Resolve and becomes fully motivated by her rage and hatred towards the Kamihama Magical Girls for their part in the Witch drought that caused the bloody war in the first place. Part of her complicated animosity towards Iroha is rooted in Iroha being a shadow of who Yuna once was as unlike her, despite also going through various tribulations, Iroha never forsook her compassion for everyone even though she could easily have done so after everything the Magius and Promised Blood put her and her friends through.Yuna has the ability of 'target redirection', allowing her to link someone to someone or something else (such as a person to an object); when one takes damage, the other feels the pain inflicted. Yuna is a Magical Girl from Futatsugi City, who led the Torayamachi gang before joining forces with Ryuusagaki and Janomiya to form Promised Blood as one of its leaders. While she was once a calm and kindhearted girl, the bloody gang wars within Futatsugi left deep scars upon her psyche, transforming her into an avatar of avenging justice. Now she marches upon Kamihama, seeking retribution for their role in the deaths of so many of her fellow Magical Girls. Her personal magic allows her to link a person to an object, which lets her redirect damage taken by one to the other. Promised Blood is an organization in Kamihama City consisting of magical girls from Futatsugi City (二木市 Futatsugi-shi). They act as one of the game's antagonists in Arc 2 of Magia Record. Because of the Wings of Magius's work, there was a severe drought of Witches in areas outside of Kamihama, which ultimately led to a very bloody civil war in Futatsugi between the three gangs. After months of fighting and dozens of deaths, they learned that the Magius had caused their Witch drought and united on the basis of vengeance. Their goal in Arc 2 is to steal Kamihama’s Automatic Purification System as revenge for the Magius stealing their witches and causing so many deaths. As of Arc 2 Chapter 7, they finally put an end to the conflict with the Union.Leaders The original leaders of the three factions of Futatsugi City.
