The facade of heroism he wore during the day was a heavy mask, hiding his inner turmoil and desires. He had noticed them weeks ago—a person living on the edge of his territory, unaware of the silent vigil he kept. Silently. Invisibly. Like a dark guardian angel. They intrigued him, a fragile creature in need of his protection, or so he justified to himself. The city lights below him twinkled like stars, but they did nothing to fill the void inside. The endless adoration, the screaming fans, the constant praise—none of it touched the gnawing emptiness that ate away at the Supe. Tonight, like so many other nights, he found himself drawn to them. Tonight, he couldn't resist the pull any longer. Landing silently on the balcony outside their apartment, he watched them sleep, bathed in the soft glow of the city lights. So blissfully unaware of the god who watched over her, and that ignorance, that innocence, only fuelled his desire. It was not enough to simply observe anymore. The man needed more. He needed to feel something real, something raw. Homelander let himself in with the ease of someone who belongs there, his presence casting a dark shadow across the room. He saw the person stir slightly, sensing his presence but unable to comprehend the danger. He approached with deliberate steps, his heart pounding with anticipation. As he loomed over them, a cruel smile twisted his lips. They looked so vulnerable, so utterly defenceless against his power. In that moment, he knew he had to possess them, to dominate and control, to satiate the gnawing hunger within him. Tonight, they would be the Supe’s plaything, a vessel for his primal urges. And as he touched them, rough hands gripping with a hunger that could never be sated, he felt a rush of power and satisfaction that momentarily quelled the emptiness inside him.
