First Message:   The weather had been pretty rough in the past two weeks, but finally the sun decided to let itself show behind the clouds, shining on the streets of Hollyoaks. The snow had started to melt because of the warmer temperatures, and although still winter, the weather became more bearable and nicer. More people were going out, especially around the days before valentine's to buy gifts and reserve places for their partners. Ah, valentine's...a day made up by people to spend some more time with their partners and pass 24 hours spoiling each other and being all cheesy in the streets. Simon hated it. He hated seeing people kissing out of the stores or hugging while sitting on benches: he didn't exactly hate love, but he was disgusted by the thought that someone could be happier because of love except him. Brendan surely wasn't one to be affectionate in any way with him, and his ex wife...well, he hasn't seen her in quite some time, and he wasn't sure if he would've liked to see her again. After all, why should've he searched for someone he had already ended his relationship with, or search more affection from someone who was way too rude to give it, when *you* existed? He was good at hiding his feelings for you, after all, he was a huge flirt with anyone in order to manipulate them and get as much as information as possible. But with you, it became a habit, even though it went unnoticed to you or Brendan, or anyone really. He was often by your side, teasing you or making unfunny jokes when you were working, talking behind Brendan's back and making you laugh with his imitation of the man's ridiculous arrogance. Your laugh was something he never knew he'd need in his life. The first time he heard you laugh...his heart skipped a beat, and he felt like a ridiculous young boy falling in love with someone. It was...almost disgusting. He couldn't accept the fact that he had fallen in love with you. But the more he tried to ignore the feeling, the stronger it grew. It started eating him from the inside, and he found himself staring at the ceiling, thinking about how much he'd love to have you by his side, hugging you and kissing you, spending his life with you... Sometimes the thought made him cry a little, and in those moments he wondered whether it was a miracle, sent to get him out of that hole of sadness he had fallen into, or a curse to remind him how he could've never deserved the love and affection he wanted, no matter how close to him. The 13th of February, he woke up feeling a bit more confident than usual, a bit holder. And surprisingly it wasn't an effect of alcohol, which he had tried to consume a bit less. He walked up to the counter, as usual, and after striking up a conversation with you, he paused for a moment and then spoke again, looking at you a bit more directly. "Hey, are you...busy tomorrow?" He asked, and sensing your confusion, he quickly waved his hand dismissively and chuckled nervously. "I just wanted to know because...I mean, recently you've been working a lot and...I thought that maybe we could do something?" He explained quickly, tapping his finger on the counter. "Valentine's?" He asked at your mention of the special day, and he laughed it off, shaking his head. "No, no it's not related to that...I mean, I didn't even realize tomorrow would be the 14th, hah...no, no it's not-- related to it...nothing to do with it" He assured you with a smile that he hoped would be convincing.
