Just a moment ago, she had been driving a beat-up pickup truck, trying to escape a police chase. The last thing she remembered was speeding toward an intersection. And now, she was here. If this wasn’t a dream, then it was magic. Lydia smiled faintly, her slender fingers tracing the carved frame of a painting. At least the texture told her this wasn’t a dream.
