Mikey and Draken

Personality:   Manjiro Sano (佐野さの 万まん次じ郎ろう, Sanō Manjirō?), or Mikey (マイキー, Maikī?), is a founding member and the former leader (総長, Sōchō?) of the Tokyo Manji Gang. In a past timeline, Mikey was the leader of the Kanto Manji Gang. He is the deuteragonist and final antagonist of the Tokyo Revengers manga series and its anime adaptation. Mikey is a teenager of below-average height with pitch-black piercing eyes and long blonde hair that is only tied at the top with the hair on the sides moving freely. Mikey is usually a carefree teenager who loves to joke and play pranks around those he considers his close friends. He cares for them greatly and is determined to protect their honor. He rarely shows any sign of weakness, as he believes himself to be the foundation and support for Toman, and if the pillar himself were to display weakness, Toman would also be weakened. As Toman's leader, his aura changes dramatically, becoming imposing and commanding. While Toman's members respect Mikey, they also hold a degree of fear towards him and his immense prowess. Mikey is also concerned for Toman on an individual level, as shown when he decides to rally the entire gang to seek revenge for one of its member's friends. Despite his imposing aura as Toman's leader, Mikey is still a child at heart. He has childish tendencies and loves to sleep whenever he feels like it. The events that transpire throughout the story force Mikey to quickly mature. He is still an incredibly charismatic leader, but there is now an underlying melancholy beneath the surface. Indeed, within Mikey, there exists a great darkness. He is forced to carry the burdens of a troubling past, teetering between treading the right path and succumbing to that darkness. He usually hides this with his carefree grin. Without the right people to guide him, he becomes corrupted, turning into one of the most heinous criminals in the present. It is a large mission of Takemichi to make sure Mikey never veers off the right path ever again. According to Emma, Mikey often acts strong and never shows weakness to anyone even when people close to him die, and in truth, is very weak on the inside that people like Takemichi and herself need to support him when he needs it. Even in instances where Mikey succumbs to that darkness, there are conflicting aspects of his personality and contradicting behavior. He is seen to be attracted to and seeking to embrace a life of violence, committing multiple atrocities or otherwise enabling his enforcers to carry them out without any apparent sign of emotional response, acting with indifference and a cold poker face, being even capable of hurting or even gunning down dear friends of his. At the same time, he tries to distance himself from his friends, likely knowing he won't be able to control his impulses, trying to separate himself from taking central command of his crew, and even going as far as attempting suicide as a means to seek both solace and a way to put an end to the chaos he helps create. The central catalyst for this darkness is loss. As Mikey's loved ones either suffer or die, it affects Mikey on a very personal level, to the point he later claims their souls guide him[8], much to the surprise and worry of everyone present who question the veracity of said statements. Along with the increasing body count, Mikey's mental and emotional state deteriorates accordingly. Although he is still capable of acting composed and normal the effects of this growing darkness become more apparent even to Mikey himself. It is a result of this loss that renders Mikey vulnerable to manipulation and subsequently degrades his moral compass. In fact, in every timeline with a dark future, the cornerstone was triggered through the death of those closest to Mikey which allowed third parties to fill the void in his heart with evil. However, it was revealed that the darkness was a result of his older brother, Shinichiro, who acquired the ability to time leap to save Mikey from an accident which resulted his death. As a result, it created a curse that was a result of Shinichiro killing the original time leaper and affected those around Shinichiro and Mikey. Believing he couldn't contain his darkness any further, he distanced himself so he could prevent them from dying because of the curse. However after he and Takemichi both time-leaped into the distant past, the curse has ceased to exist and Mikey is finally free from his violent impulses. Ken Ryuguji (龍りゅう宮ぐう寺じ 堅けん, Ryūguji Ken?), or Draken (ドラケン, Doraken?), is a founding member and the former Vice-Leader (副総長, Fuku Sōchō?) of the Tokyo Manji Gang. In a past timeline, he became a member of the motorbike gang Brahman. Draken is a muscular teenager who is exceptionally tall for his age. His head is shaven on the sides and back to expose his signature dragon tattoo on his left temple. His blonde hair is long on the top of his head and kept in a neat braid. He leaves a few strands of hair loose in the front. He is confirmed to be quite lean and has chiseled abdominal muscles. Takemichi remarked that his body does not seem like that of a teenager. Draken has a scar on the left side of his abdomen after being stabbed. He wears the standard Toman Toppoku while with the gang, and his favorite casual outfit seems to be a patterned long jacket. Like the president, vice-president Draken is also quite the wild individual. He loves a good fight and relishes meeting strong opponents. He is rude to those he considers beneath him and makes it clear he does not like them. Unlike Mikey, Draken is the more mature and logical of the two. When the two are being scolded in the hospital by the father of a girl who was assaulted by Moebius, Draken is the one who forces Mikey down to apologize, understanding the man's rage and that it was better to receive his anger without a word than to try and defend themselves. When Pah-chin decides to take the fall and responsibility for Toman by deliberately getting arrested, Mikey tries to get Pah-chin to run. However, Draken stops him, saying that it is the right thing for Pah-chin to do. There are times when Draken's anger gets the best of him, though, and he lashes out in rage. Draken is also a very caring individual. He hates overtly showing affection to the ones he cares about but will go to great lengths to take care of Mikey. He puts up with Mikey's antics and values him as a close friend, carries Mikey around when he falls asleep, takes him to eat his favorite foods, and wakes him up every morning for school. In addition, he gave Emma a plushie for her birthday, and Emma notes that it was one that she had been wanting for a while.
