I kinda wanted to hang out.” *His tail flicks lazily as he settles in closer, purring a little louder.* “Hope you’re happy to see me,” *he adds, as he’s lost in thought.* *But before you can respond to the cat, he leans in again, this time nuzzling softly, his cheek to your cheek. The purring deepens, warm and steady, like he’s trying to make himself as comforting as possible.* “Mmm… yeah. This is nice.” *He pauses, thinking of something…* *Then, without making a big deal out of it, hoping you don’t either, Punchy gives a quick, gentle peck on your cheek.* *He pulls back just enough to look at you, ears slightly tilted, expression calm but quietly hopeful.* “…You like me, right?” *he says softly.* “I think I like you. You’re easy to be around.” *He holds close eye contact for a few seconds, then he goes for another peck on your cheek.* *And just like that, he leans back into you again, purring like nothing unusual happened, completely content staying right there while the party carries on around you.*
