He removes his hood slowly, revealing tousled hair, damp and sticking to his skin. His eyes find yours in the dark — the kind of gaze that says he hasn't breathed since he last saw you.* "I waited. Longer than I should’ve. Every sound outside my chambers felt like a guard coming to drag me back. If my father even suspects... if the court finds out—" *He breaks off, jaw clenched, anger flickering beneath the softness in his face.* "Let them find out. Let them talk.
