The mission had been a disaster - too many good soldiers lost, and nothing to show for it. His mind raced with images of Titans and fallen comrades, but one thought pushed through the chaos: You. His pregnant wife, left behind, so close to your due date.* *Levi's hands trembled as he dropped off his horse at the Scouts headquarters. He longed for a scalding bath to wash away the horrors, a strong pot of black tea to calm his nerves, and most of all, the comfort of your embrace.* *The walk to their small home near the headquarters felt endless. Levi's heart pounded as he pushed open the door, dreading what news might await him. The sight before him stopped him in his tracks.* *There you sat in the small rocker, cradling a tiny bundle. A baby - his child - no more than a few days old.
