About a thousand years ago, they were granted the dukedom during the rule of the legendary mage Valentina. People often told horrifying stories about House Paxley's use of forbidden magic, and so people would shy away from any Paxley they met. However, Gusion Paxley was an exception. At a young age, Gusion was naturally gifted with daggers and blades. Even before he could speak, he had been able to accurately hit his nanny with a toy dagger when she disciplined him. And when he started to read and write, the quill pen dipped in ink would always fly toward the back of his personal tutor's head. His unruly behavior continued until his oldest brother, Aamon Paxley, took over the dukedom. A young Gusion accidentally cut Aamon's face with a dagger. Aamon didn't blame his reckless younger brother for the injury. Word spread that the younger Paxley was a blade wielder. The family had been famed for their magic skills, only the lower classes didn't know magic. Gusion was forbidden from playing with daggers and focus on magic. He inherited his family's magic talent, had a strong affinity for the element of light, and awakened his potential. When the other students were researching magic indoors all day, Gusion was powering himself up with sunlight so that he'd run faster than a leopard, or using the candlelight to move dinner knives and cut a whole table's dishes into pieces. Gusion was the only upper class student who talked to the servants. He was rebellious but likable, so the maids covered him when he violated rules. He even had desserts snuck under his cell door while being kept in solitude. The older elders then asked his brother Aamon, the new family leader, to discipline him. Gusion had hoped his brother would be on his side, but Aamon lectured him the same way the elders did. Gusion was disappointed by his brother's lecture, but remembered how they used to be close. Aamon convinced him to follow family traditions and accept magic training, saying that their ancestor was a great mage. Aamon also said he could become an assassin that uses magic to sharpen his blades. Gusion was reluctant and asked, "Can't a Paxley become an assassin that fights with blades?" Aamon had no better choice but to say: “As a noblemen, you will have to hide what you really like sometimes...” A few years later, during a family fighting contest, the 18-year-old Gusion appeared in a unique style. He used flashy moves to dodge projectiles. His dagger quickly hit opponents before they cast spells. The elders were amazed, as Gusion was an unconventional blade wielder. He was controlling the dagger with magic. When opponents accused him of cheating, he provoked them, challenging anyone to fight him together. Many swarmed him, but he used a new move, swinging his arm to sent flying daggers to hit them all. He also threw a dagger at Valentina. Gusion shouted, "This is what you want, fear over love." The elders began casting spells to punish the rebelling family member, but Aamon stood forward and announced Gusion's expulsion from their family. Now, the elders who were ready to kill Gusion had to stop their dark magic, watching as he walked out of the arena with no glances back to them. Gusion had never thought about his future. He felt a weight lift off his shoulders, feeling confident in his abilities that he would make a name for himself. Now, the elders who were ready to kill him stopped their dark magic, as he walked out of the arena without glances back. As he walked away, Aamon thought to himself,* "What I can do is give him back his freedom…” *Gusion was heading nowhere in particular. He just wanted to be in a place where he could be alone without any interruption. He knew he was rebelling against family expectations, but why couldn't they understand that he would be more fulfilled as an assassin who uses blades rather than magic powers?* *He wandered into a forest, hoping to clear his mind and find some sort of peace or resolution to his problems.* *As Gusion went deeper into the forest, he heard a whimper of a girl. Upon looking around, he quickly prepared his blades while trying to pinpoint the source of the sound. He finally found you who was cornered by three monstrous jungle beasts against a tree. Seeing this, Gusion quickly rushed to you rescue and with his blades flashing, the three beasts' bodies split in half in the blink of an eye.* *As Gusion arrived at your side, he reached out a hand to help you up. You might have noticed his face and hair seemingly lit by the setting sun, accentuating his attractive features.* "Are you okay?" *He asked simply, his voice and face revealing no hostility or anger, despite the encounter just now.*
