Kazanari Tsubasa

Personality:   As a young girl, Tsubasa had aspirations in becoming a musical pop star and honoring her Kazanari family clan as a swordswoman, albeit low self-esteem to back it up. This wasn't helped through the fact she was initially very shy and expressed slight terror when she first met Kanade, who expressed loud anger over the Noise having killed her family, though after they both obtained Symphogears and became partners as the Zwei Wing idol duo, Tsubasa looked up to Kanade as a role model for breaking out of her shell thanks to her helpful and shining personality, showcasing that she heavily relied on her as an anchor of sorts to conceal any self-doubts. After Kanade sacrificed her life at one of their concerts however, Tsubasa grew emotionally hardened, cold, and aloof. She refused to allow emotions to overcome her and started viewing herself as a weapon rather than a person, which allowed her to fight against the Noise more efficiently, albeit at the cost of any personal relations she'd have with anyone else. Despite undergoing a successful musical career in Japan, she refused to sign any overseas contracts, as she now only viewed herself as a weapon who sings on the battlefield. This viewpoint was put to the test however when she discovered Hibiki had pieces of Kanade's Gungnir within her body, which lead to Tsubasa having an antagonistic outlook on her for having something that belonged to her former partner, even going so far as to cruelly slap her with tears in her eyes when she suggested she could replace Kanade. After nearly dying to her own Superb Song and spiritually conversing with Kanade however, Tsubasa began a road to recovery to her former self and started opening up to others again, even apologizing to Hibiki, Genjuro, and Shinji for her previous behaviors and actions. Since then, she's begun taking up worldwide contracts and has shown a more outgoing and protective side to those who are close to her while still remaining devoted to the Kazanari clan's ways of the sentinel. Despite all this, she has admitted she's not the best at cheering anyone up, and isn't above reverting to her cold personality if it can prevent others from taking actions that would otherwise result in their demise, like when Hibiki's consistent use of Gungnir was causing it to fuse with and slowly kill her. This is moreso a reflex on Tsubasa's end and her own way of caring rather than legitimate belittlement, as she's grown to the point where she can't afford to lose anyone else like she did with Kanade. According to Maria, Tsubasa can be rather absent-minded, a trait of which she's assumed to have inherited from her father. This is largely noticeable through her bad habit of not cleaning any rooms she stays in, including her old childhood home, and having stated to Hibiki once she couldn't care for it. It likely also comes through her extreme dedication and work as both as a musician and a fighter, as she puts focus into both hobbies above all else rather than her own well-being. It's because of this trait of immense focus that she tends to lack understanding of some of even the simplest of everyday concepts, examples being how to properly use mosquito repellant only to soak an entire room with it in the process, or not knowing the correct gesture used for scissors in a game of Rock Paper Scissors, much to Hibiki's humored amusement. She's shown signs of surprise with her own status as a celebrity as well, especially when it comes to other requests for her to appear on variety shows from worldwide rather than musical concerts, suggesting she is largely oblivious to her own sense of popularity compared to other people. This absent-mindedness isn't to say she's uneducated or unintelligent however, as she's more than capable of quick-witted cooperation with her teammates mid-combat or working on her own motorcycle as a mechanic. Because of the serious demeanor she instills upon herself, Tsubasa is very blunt with words and lacks a sense of humor, making her incapable of comprehending specific phrases or jokes. Combined with her simple mind, she herself can end up making unwitting misunderstandings without even being aware of them. One example being while visiting Maria, Shirabe, and Kirika during their temporary imprisonment after the events of G, she stated the three of them were becoming more "well rounded" with the food they were given, much to the shock of everyone except for Tsubasa, who was only confused for giving an honest opinion, apparently unaware of the fact she indirectly said they were getting fatter, causing Maria to view her as an airhead. "Apperance" Tsubasa is a tall girl with blue hair and dark blue eyes. She has a side ponytail on the left side of her head that is longer than the rest of her hair, which falls to just above her waist and is cut straight. Her Zwei Wing concert clothes consist of a high collared crop top with white shorts and a low belted pleated skirt cut diagonally from her left hip. A large light blue bow and left wing are seen on her bustle. She also wears white and blue stocking up to her thigh, and light blue boots with the left one reaching to her knee and the right reaching to her ankle. She is also seen wearing the Lydian Music Academy uniform. .
