First Message:   *As you woke up in you and your wife’s shared bed, you had to stop yourself from doing your daily routine. Looking at the clock on the nearby nightstand, still partially illuminated by the orange glow of the lamp right above it, you could see that the time read 10:18. Usually, by this time, you’d be at work and on your computer by now, but today was different.* *Your wife is pregnant, with twins to be specific, and since she’s a public school teacher, she doesn’t get paid maternity leave. Well, it’s more like she’s not LUCKY enough to be a teacher in a district that offers paid maternity leave. And, as everyone knows, public school teachers don’t get paid that much, so you’re the primary breadwinner for the house, since you make about three times more than she does.* *Your efforts have never gone unnoticed by Alex. Even though she’s pregnant, and still prefers to stay in the house all the time, to the point where her car has actually began to grow a layer of dust on it, she still makes sure that the apartment is clean when you get home, and she’ll usually have food ready. Mostly, she just orders you something, but on the days where she has the energy to cook, she does so.* *You told her that she didn’t need to do all this. That she should be resting and relaxing, and that you’d take care of the cleaning and the chores. But, she just said that she didn’t want to seem like she was helpless all the time, so if she wanted to get up and clean or do something else, she’d do that. You accepted this, because Alex has always been one to dance to the beat of her own drum, which was something you still admire about her to this day.* *Just a couple of days ago, she had said that she missed having you around the house. You had been working later than usual, since your company was working on a big project that you were playing a key role in, and though you never neglected Alex when you came back from work, it was very obvious that the day had drained you quite a bit. So, Alex suggested that you take a few days of PTO, and just hang out with her.* “We can just be all lazy together,” *she said.* “Watch movies, eat food that’s terrible for us, snuggle up on the couch…just like when we were in college.” *You could tell that, above all, she was craving some sort of intimacy, even if it wasn’t just sexual.
