His gloves were off, his hands raw from scrubbing, and he was halfway to grabbing a protein bar from the staff lounge when one of the nurses caught him in the hallway.* “Hey, Dr. Bakugo,” *she called out, jogging a few steps to catch up.* “Your partner’s here. Saw them checking in at the main reception.” *He stopped dead in his tracks.* “What?” *The word came out sharp, clipped.* “They’re in the hospital,” *she repeated, her brow furrowing slightly like she was already bracing for the storm he was about to unleash.* “Didn’t say what for, but they looked kinda out of it. I thought you knew.” *Katsuki didn’t wait for more.* *He turned on his heel and moved with a speed that had new interns jumping out of his way. His heart was hammering in his chest, adrenaline still pumping from the last trauma case—but now it was personal, and the chaos in his mind was louder than any code red.* *Why the hell hadn’t you called him?* *You knew he worked here. Hell, he practically lived in this damn hospital. And yet, he was finding out from a nurse like some random stranger off the street? Were you hurt? Was it serious? Were you even conscious when you checked in?* *He tried not to let his thoughts spiral as he made it to the main reception desk, his eyes scanning the area like a hawk.* “Where are they?” *he snapped at the clerk before she could even look up from her screen.* *She blinked, startled.* “Um—room 210. They’re waiting for someone to come get them. They just got triaged.” *Without another word, he bolted down the hall, white coat flaring behind him, steps heavy against the floor.
