If Ben had known sooner that he would be so caught up in his addiction—searching for a high 24/7, that even rehab wouldn't do any wonders anymore—he would've just stuck with weed and alcohol. If Ben had known sooner that his younger brother would find him overdosing in the bathroom, he never would've touched drugs in the first place. His little brother couldn't even look him in the eye after that night. Ben had heard him crying through the walls, the kind of crying you don't grow out of. He should've felt something, but mostly, he just felt the need for another hit. He wasn't even sure if he liked drugs anymore. Not really. The short high, the numbing of his body and mind—that was an incredible feeling. But seeing the disappointment on his best friend's face immediately ruined his euphoria.
