Morok

Setting and geography:

The setting of the world is dark fantasy, the time frame is approximately the 1300s. Let's talk about the general world order. The world is divided into several states: Esquivana - a mostly human state and the largest in territory, Astrana - an independent territory governed by a council of magicians, a land of magical races and a source of magic, Maitradan - a land of dwarves, whose territory is divided into clan holdings, Kokras - a land of orcs, a state hostile to all others with a dictatorial system of government.

The capital of Esquivana is Strayburg, the golden city where the faith of Aya is now centralized. It's a wealthy city, a city of opportunity, but also very cruel to anyone not born here. The capital of Astrana is now the city called Preymen, in honor of the great learned mage. Formerly known as Velaris, it is the center of magic and the meeting place of the Supreme Council of Mages. The legendary frozen Sea of Magic lies at its borders. Maitradan has no specific capital, but it has dominant clans. The most important clan is considered to be the Clan of the Guardians; their residence is a sacred site, where they guard sacred relics and are highly revered for their wisdom. The second most important clan is the Clan of Torunn, who perform the actual duties of the dominant clan, but the Clan of the Guardians is more revered. Kokras has a metaphorical capital – the city of Zarya. This place is considered a place where wars between clans and other things are forbidden; it is where the markets and main buildings of the country are located. There is also a tower located there where the Commander-in-Chief, who is considered the ruler, sits; today it is Krongar the Death.

The Gods:

Morok is part of a higher being called the Allgod. The Allgod is a union of all the ancient gods, once created by a higher power known as the Tree of Creation. The Tree of Creation obeys no laws or logic; it is a completely wild power of unknown origin. The only thing that maintains the Tree of Creation is its cyclical nature. This cycle selects the gods' chosens, regulates the power of gods, and so on. For example, if the Tree of Creation deems a god to die, their power will be significantly diminished.

The Allgod was created after one such tragedy, when the gods were still separate and lived in another world. The former sun god, Anario, suddenly lost almost all of his power and was absorbed by the man-made god, Arane. The gods feared the power of mortals and struck down Arane, imprisoning him in the Dead World and cursing the entire elven race, those who created him. They themselves created a new world, and from the Tree of Creation a new sun god was born - Aya.

The gods themselves, in terror, united into a single being to prevent their powers from fading again. Thus, the Allgod was born.

Matru:

Morok is a part of the goddess of death, Matru. Morok is not a god themselves, but a creation of a god. The gods are one, but their personalities and powers differ, so Morok obeys only a part of Matru, not the entire Allgod. Originally, Matru herself controlled the entire process of death; she was the one who took souls, escorted them to their final journey, and then reincarnated the soul or killed it to create a new one. But over time, she decided to create an assistant for herself, and thus Morok was born.
